Congradulations on YOUR CHOICE to quit. Don't forget it is YOUR CHOICE. You get to do this thing. Just thought I'd let you know.....I quit on the gum to. Stop smoking aids can work.....if you really want to quit. You will find it has everything to do about attitude and commitment......and not so much about the method you use to acomplish your goal. Read...read... and read somemore in this site. You can do this. Way to go Ayla! You are on your way to FREEDOM! Do whatever you have to do to make it through. In the first few days I did a lot of snacking, napping, reading (I was on this site constantly and I read an entire novel in 2 days!) When the craves were at their worst I did deep breathing, self talk, delay, and distract. I also found it helpful to review my list of reasons to stop. I had it on my fridge along with other good info on quitting that I found here. Stay strong Ayla, you can do this! You are doing it, Ayla! Take it one hour at a time, and when necessary, one minute at a time. Deep breaths, lots of water, and eat something every few hours to keep your blood sugar up. Watch out for too much caffeine. Start your quit journal with a list of your reasons for quitting and a reward plan. Good luck! Ayla, Just stuck my head in the door and there you were. I am so glad to see you hear this morning. Jump in feet first and post through your craves. I almost replaced smoking with this site when my quit was new. I still stay on here a lot but I can tell you the knowledge I have learned is very valuable. Read, read, and read, some more. We come from all over the world with different ideas and beliefs but we all don't want to smoke. Welcome and Happy New Year!
