Hi Aggie! Well I see you got some great advise from everyone here. No need to feel nervous, you should be excited that you about to embarq on a fantastic journey into a healthier lifestyle! Quitting smoking can be very emotional and tense at times. If you know this and expect it you can overcome it. Took me about 6 months before I truly felt secure with my quit much less than that my cravings were pretty much gone but now I have nothing that triggers any cravings at all. All you have to do is want to quit and it will happen. Congratulations to ya for taking the first step! I quit with Chantix. You are experienceing the normal cut back with Chantix. But if you need a smoke, do it. Then when your quit date arrives get rid of them and everything else related to smoking. Let the Chantix do it's job. I hope you understand that there is going to some withdrawal with your quit, but Chanitix makes it more manageable. In a few days you will be fine. Just prepare and come here often. You can do this, yes you will. Welcome!!! Let me see...what would I suggest??? Stay strong, stay focused, stay positive, don't smoke! If you can do all those and really really want to quit smoking, you can! Oh, and drink lots of water to flush the nicotine out. Stock up on licorice or mints, something to suck on.... :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/8/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 365 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,475 Amount Saved: $1,533.00 Life Gained: Days: 34 Hrs: 16 Mins: 52 Seconds: 26

Hi Aggie, Congratulations on deciding to quit and setting a date. Make sure you read and go through the workbook. I've been using Chantix since I quit and was amazed at easy it was to quit. I waited for 2 weeks after starting Chatix to quit. I noticed you said you didn't have a cigarette since last night, good for you!! You will go through a period of time where your concentration will be lacking while your body goes through changes as it cleans all the toxins out of your body. Read as many of the post here on this site. It will give you a heads up of what to expect. You've come to a great place for support and you have mine!!
