Anyone used Chantix?

Hi Fivestring, I had the opposite with Chantix. The morning pill would make me really nauseated after 6 weeks and my doc had me cut down to one pill at 3 pm. I don't feel sick anymore and it stretches my prescription longer. I don't feel I need to take it anymore but I'm choosing to stay on it. My doc also feels 6 months has a better success rate so I'll take it as long as my doc tells me. Congrats on 5 weeks!! Gas production after giving up smoking

Hi Fussyone, This has been the topic of many post and humorous at that. Yes this is part of quitting smoking and could last a couple of days to a few weeks. It's your bodies way of getting rid of the poison in your body from smoking. I bumped up "Excessive Gas" in the common support thread. You'll be able to laugh at this and it will pass no pun intended. Congrats on your decision to quit!! DON'T GIVE UP!!

I've noticed alot of new quitters since the New Year and from before and no news from them. I hope your still out here lingering and reading even if you have gone back to smoking. Many of us here have slipped, resumed smoking and have come back. I am one of them. The key is not to give up on yourself. Even when I beat myself down for smoking after a 70 day quit, No one here judged me only encouraged me to keep trying and I did. My stats are not as impressive of some of the quitters here but they also started at day 1 and I know I can also do this and the desire to quit and stay quit is strong! So please drop a line and check in now and then to say hi or if your struggling. Just don't stray too far and know we're here when your ready and if you need us!! How to deal with the rage? It can get me in some real trouble.

This post couldn't have come at a better time. I'm dealing with some issues that have sent me into a rage which is why I haven't posted in a few days, and haven't been pleasant to be around. I signed up for anger management to control this rage before the cuban temper gets the best of me and destroys my quit. Once again it's back to court over my daughter and I'm so tired of being broadsided every time he has a visitation with her. It's hard enough being a single mom to a 15 year old without her father not setting any boundaries or showing any responsibility. Anyway great bump and I'll be around just not posting much till I feel better. I'm still hanging in there. I blew it again!!

Well I let the anger, depression and wonderful NYS court system get the best of me and I ruined my quit again. My daughter has moved out, my car broke down and I have to get a second job to make ends meet. The worst of it is I'm missing my daughter sooooo much!! She's finding the grass isn't greener on the other side. I regret smoking again and kicking myself in the ash. I've reset my meter to quit again on the 9th. I'm still going to Vegas in March and have to quit again because that is the reward I gave to myself and I want to be smoke free for it. Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever be able to quit longer than a couple of months. I really thought I had it licked this time and went back to counseling but not having my daughter with me hurts so much. She was one of my triggers with breaking rules and recreational activities I don't condone but I guess in NY if your 15 you can say where you want to live. Anyway I'll be away on business for a couple of days and will continue to read and see where I keep going wrong. For anyone new here please it's not worth it to start again!!!!
