You guys are doing great posting your way through the first couple days. I, too, remember vividly how stressful the 1st few days were. I seemed to think of nothing but cigarettes, but... it definitely does get better! Try to keep yourself busy. Before you know it you'll have weeks/months behind you & the sense of accomplishment you will feel is phenomenal.
I know it sounds silly, but one thing that helped me in the early days of my quit was a lack of long-term committal. I lived minute to minute & day to day. When a member of senior management commended @ 1 week, I asked him not to. I told him that I couldn't speak for tomorrow, next week or next month. I think that attitude was drawn from a a fear of failure. Now that I know the hardest part is behind me & I'm starting to reap some of the benefits of not smoking, I have the strength & courage to admit that I'm in it for the long-haul. After all, who wants to go through hell/heck weeks all over again.
Quote of the Day:
Once you begin to believe there is help "out there," you will know it to be true.
