Thank you all so much for the support! About thirty hours since my last cigarette and it's going pretty well. Went through most of the day on carrot sticks, but downed a full box of chocolates just now. Still, feeling pretty good about being a non-smoker.

Hi CoteDAzure, You are going to love this site and I am going to be your biggist fan. You don't have to have the support of a person who is still smoking. They have no support to give. 'You are the one quitting. You want to quit and you can do anything you want too.' I told myself that over and over and I began to believe it and the first thing I knew, I was not a smoker. I will celebrate 6 months on Friday and I protect it like it is a new born child. Its not easy but it is possible. Hi CoteDAzur - Yes, the point of the diary is to give you an idea of when you smoke and why so you can better prepare to quit. Maybe instead you can reflect on the whens and whys of your former smoking habits and go on with the rest of the workbook. I agree with Anna. Eat the chocolate. It helps with the "happy" brain chemicals and, as far as I know, is non-addictive. ;) Also, if you are already, try using ice water and deep breathing as smoking substitutes. The combination works wonders. Welcome aboard and good luck!
