I had a heart attack and I have to quit smoking

Hi Wendel Sorry for what you experienced, I am 46 yrs old and today I couldn't wait to enjoy this warm weather here around Toronto,Ontario GTA so I persued my hobby of Metal-detecting and I went to this manmade ski-hill and I walked up and down up and half way down then criss-crossing and then went over a few more hills,,,then I went and parked my vehicle between the mall and library so I don't have to start vehicle twice so I walked. When I approached the library it was then I thought I really can feel the lung capacity from abstaining from the ciggys ,,it is a wonderful feeling It is hard ,however the end result is worth it,Hope it goes well with your quit, My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/20/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 68 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,429 Amount Saved: $612 Life Gained: Days: 10 Hrs: 16 Mins: 2 Seconds: 38

It's been 4 weeks since my last cigarette

Yes do throw them away. That is what I had to do to finallly give it a serious stab at becoming smoke-free. After awhile you may ask yourself "Why did I ever start to begin with"!! Well folks! it's been 6 months.

Lately I have been having a craving or urge stronger than when I first started my quit. When I look at my meter 4,000 not smoked in half a year,,,,wow,,, that is 8,000 a yr. approx. 12 yrs is 100,000 the numbers are spellbounding. This is the longest period for me to be smokefree since the first time I inhaled a cigarette. I feel a sense of accomplishment however the battle lingers on. The crave never goes away/ Denying the urge becomes stronger

I have come this far in my meter and everyone who posts about quiting and comes back and feels bad about falling back, well there is going to be that one last step where you will have reached that plateau. Hence no more steps , That is part of the quit I guess. Got to try and try again. It is easy I've done it (dozens of times). You cannot quit trying to quit the quit. I hope that made sense.
