I called my mom today and told her I have quit smoking and it has been one week. Her response was "oh that's good....for a start" I know she means well, but talk about a backhanded compliment. lol btw, she has never smoked a day in her life. One thing that really bugs me issomone saying "she says she quit" while laughing into their hand. I want them to smell my breath, hair, clothes, inspect my garbage, garage and patio and anywhere else. It's not that easy to quit and if somone thinks you're lying about it that really makes me mad. Despite the fact that we are supposed to share our decision to quit with others, I, for the most part, chose to keep the decision to myself. Since I saw so many friends and coworkers in non-smoking environments, some were actually shocked when they discovered that I had quit. I remember being so hurt one day when someone said that if I could quit, anyone could....But then I decided that must be a good thing because that means we can all quit!! Yippee!
