Jean,
I don't know if this will help at all; just want you to know that you are the spark that got me posting here. And reading. And allowing myself to accept help. You have been AND ARE an inspiration.
Nothin' but love,

Today I started rehearsals of a play that I am directing and didn't smoke. Even when 7 out of 8 in my cast went out for one during the break.
I got really bad food poisoning over the weekend and have been sick. I even had to go on stage Sunday! I would come offstage after a scene and just buckle over in pain. It was awful! But the audience didn't have a clue. And I didn't smoke!!!
Right now, I'm eating pistachio nuts, and I'm not smoking!

Hamza,
Yep, I tried it all, to no avail. But Chantix has been amazing. It has helped to rid me of the physical/chemical urges...for the most part...so that I can focus my energy on my anxiety, my patterns, my deep-seaded sub-conscious tendencies toward self destruction. You know, the actual addiction! ;) It's been great, and hard, and fun, and brutal, and empowering, and...did I say hard? Smoking, for me anyway, was only a symptom of what's really going on with me. It was a way that I would stifle my anxiety, for example. Take smoking away, and I GET to find new ways of dealing with it. I wouldn't have this clear a picture of these things if I was constantly biting my pillow to fight of a huge chemical craving. But by the time I step away from the Chantix, I plan to have dealt with a lot of "what's really going on with me", in which case the physical cravings will be much easier to tackle. I have no idea if I'm making any sense to anyone but me! But, hey...
Oh, AND: this site has been instrumental.
Good luck with your quit!
