Rough patch.. and now moved on !

17 years ago 0 2830 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Good for you for moving on... that's all you CAN do! We can't go back and redo the past (oh boy, I wish I could though!!!), so the best thing we can do is learn from our mistakes and make a personal vow to ourselves not to make those mistakes again! Indeed, it sounds like you're doing that and are well on your way to freedom! Crave the Quit! Healer I am going deep inside and I really did not give much thought to resetting my meter over having 2 cigs. I've come far and I do hope to keep on going.. I'm just feeling all muddled up - been with my partner for 3 yrs and bam, it's over? I'm a good person you know? I've been there for this person through things other's would have left and not able to handle. We've been through so many things, good and bad.. Just hard ok? Damn hard. Freemom I am going to do exactly what you suggested. I have a few very good books I have to start reading, many dvd's and a variety of herbal teas. I plan on throwing in a movie and just snuggle up alone.. sorry.. this is really hard "alone"... I can see that this is going to take a lot of time. I'm a strong person and when I commit to something I stick to it.. Thanks kita.. sweet words of support.. so caring. Ok.. I'm very tired so I'd better get my plans in motion for my movie and tea. Thanks again everyone. 'night.. Jean, Please hang in there and don't be to hard on yourself. I went through a really tough time last night and there were people there to help me. I sat back and had a few glasses of wine because they say to change your drink and you won't crave. I don't know if it really worked because I am not a drinker but I did feel like the world lifted a little and that horrible crave went away. Take sometime for yourself right now. Try not to pressure yourself and above all Love yourself for who you are. I will be here if you need me as will many others. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 49 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 995 Amount Saved: $318.5 Life Gained: Days: 6 Hrs: 22 Mins: 15 Seconds: 19

Oh, Jean. I'm so sorry to hear you are going through a rough time. Just keep remembering that smoking will not make the situation any better. You have been such a great cheerleader to so many people here, you deserve to succeed. Make sure to nurture yourself - you have to protect you and your quit. Curl up in bed and watch a movie, read a book, do a crossword puzzle, take a bubble bath. Whatever it takes to make you feel relaxed. Then be like Scarlett O'Hara - think about the other stuff tomorrow! Hang in there! Hi Jean49 - We smoke because we are addicts... Be careful deciding to not turn your meter back, as it's important to be honest with self on this journey. Hold on tight and go deep inside- if you don't get a handle on that slip and you are not bringing in more coping skills for the tough times, you may slip again. Blessings and Light! No it's not inappropriate.. it's just a very personal thing. Sometimes there are subjects we simply cannot discuss.. (except of course with someone who is like your very best friend and I've done that). Let me just say that I've been left by my partner and I never saw it coming. I so appreciate your concern though. Just going to take some time for things to calm down emotionally for me. I'm going for a walk. I need to do some serious thinking and refocusing.
