Lou P Lou,
Whew! You got through that one; congratulations! Those are tough days this early in our quits. But I think your reaction to it is perfect! Yeah, get mad at the addiction!
That's something I've been working on in therapy, actually. I've always had such an even temper. I never allow myself to reach anger. I was afraid of my anger. Yes, anger can be bad, but I'm learning that it isn't always. Sometimes it's very freeing.
I'm angry at cigarettes! Angry at my addiction! Not angry at myself, quite the contrary. I love myself more than ever; I am worth quitting and all the pain and bad days that quitting brings.
I remind myself every time I have a bad day: "when I get through this day I will be stronger than yesterday!" Not that it doeasn't totally suck! But it's true, Lou P. Lou, you are stronger than yesterday. I'm proud to be quitting beside you.

I'd say, yeah it's normal. This is a huge decision. It's life-changing. It's lifestyle-changing. I've had to alter my night-life a great deal, until I am strong enough to say NO when a pack is set down in front of me.
And when an event comes up, that I can't miss...like I recently had the opening night of a show I'm in, and there was a party afterward, etc...I make sure I take someone with me that can be "my rock", ya know? Someone who I respect. Who doesn't smoke. Who know's I'm going through a really hard time and will check in on me and wisk me away if I'm at a breaking point. It's worked so far!
But I didn't do anything social for the first 3 or 4 days. I just had to stay home all day and bite my pillow! I'm exaggerating, but not much. ;p
Hope this helps! And I hope you do make the decision to quit; it'll be the best decision of your life.
