On Day 2!

I'm sitting here reading all the posts I can and trying to get tired enough to sleep on the couch tonight and I find so many of these posts that stir up all kinds of emotions and I have to fight the urge not to cry! I hope this is the result of withdrawl and I'm not losing my mind. I read one by bear (I think?) asking if life would be watching out for another bad habit to lean on now that smoking isn't an option and here I am with a beer. It really hit hard. I poured it out because I know that I am doing exactly that - instead of smoking I grabbed alcohol. This is not a pattern I want to repeat, but gosh, talk about feeling ashamed. It did help Sue - I laughed and snotted all at the same time...lol Crying and laughing at the same time is a talent I just don't have. My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/13/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 20 Amount Saved: $4.21 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 3 Mins: 21 Seconds: 12

NRT when???

I know I'm on day 1 (today will be 2) but the first time I had the patch and it worked well, I just quit using it on my own, but anyway....I had the same problems. Like Phil suggested, your bottom is a good place but it didn't work well enough for me there, The Dr said it's more effective for some people on your upper body, but I did find that the middle of my shoulder blades is a great spot. Your skin doesn't tend to stretch it off and clothing doesn't rub it too much either. Take the challenge - let me know what happens.

I just spent my time reading this entire thread befor seeing your last post, those 3 words really let the newbies (or newbies again!)know how supportive everyone on this site is - there aren't words to express the impact these posts can have on someone going through a really rough patch, particularly when the urge is almost too strong to resist. Thank you Anna. Why don't they list edgy as a side effect?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I'm not nervous, I'm pissed. Flat out. At the world. Well, for the next ten minutes anyway, then it will pass. By the way I have decided that (after thinking about the last time I slipped) anger can stem from PMS (lady issues) OR PMS as in pre-meditated smoking. You know, when everyone around you knows that you are quitting but you are waiting for those 5 minutes you know you will have alone and can take just one puff, slather on the lotion, gargle, and spritz the parfume, and nobody is the wiser and you hate yourself for doing it. Just a thought I'd share. Before, I suffered from PreMeditated Smoking, and that sucked. Yeah, I'm angry, in general. By the way, I'm on day 3 and guess what - I am STILL A NONSMOKER!!!!!!! I'm angry as hell, but a NONSMOKER!!!!!! and for whatever reason I have the need to yell it out right now. Perhaps to distract me from the fact that my husbands snoring makes me want to grab a baseball bat. I thought it was cute a week ago. I think this may be a side effect of marriage. See you tomorrow!
