I am addicted to the nozzle thingy.

You know, a really funny thing happened to me yesterday and I though I'd share for anyone who wanted to read this morning. I'm going into week 2 - YEAH! - and have been carrying around this bottle of water like my life depended on it. Well, in a way it does doesn't it? Anyway, we went to a movie last night to celebrate getting through this first week. About 45 minutes into the movie I started fidgeting. This drives my husband up the wall, and he says "are you ok?" I, of course, look at him like he has gone insaine, and reply "of course I'm ok, now hush so I can hear." I was very much not ok, and really could have cared less about the movie anyway, but I am super wife and so....lol Well, truth is I was going nuts for that dang water bottle nozzle thingy. Now don't get me wrong, it's good that I have something helping me besides this growth on my arm, but the others in the theater did not have the appreciation for my sudden burst of laughter when I realized why I was so agitated. I am addicted to the nozzle thingy.

I am curious - I'm using the patch - everytime (including the first) i put it on my upper body (usually the upper arm) I notice that the muscle hurts, almost like it would if you over exercise or get a shot. The pain is in the muscle and elbow and wrist. I have tried the back and chest as well, but it's still the same - the arm closest to the patch hurts. Has anyone had an experience like this?

Hello

Congrats Patty! I quit a little more than a week ago and this site has been invaluable. There are so many people here to support you, and yes - read, read, and READ. The best thing I have found is that no matter what your concerns, fears, side effects, or mood at least 1 person here is feeling the same way or has been there. You are NOT alone, and everyone is here when you need them! ;pALL HAIL THE NOZZLE THINGY!! ;p

Patch causing pain

LOL I posted the same thing yesterday..the chest didn't work for me, the arm closest to the patch still hurt, so today I am trying the butt as Phil and Mercy suggested. I've had it on for about an hour and no pain, when I had it on my arm the pain would have started by now. ;pHAIL THE NOZZLE THINGY!! ;p Good Luck! Back again....

Ok, previously my name was need2quit, so I'm not exactly new to the site. I completely fell off the wagon and resumed my familiar routine of a pack a day, and fell off the site for awhile (HUGE MISTAKE!). It didn't start out that way, I was actually doing really well! Then I had a bad day, then a bad week, well you know how the rest goes. What started out as 1 turned into 1 a day, 3 a day, and before long I was right back at a pack and feeling horrible. In the past month and a half I have had a death in the family, amazing stress at school, and huge problems in my marriage recently, along with the continuous battle of an eating disorder and emotional problems. I am in no way saying these made me relapse, these problems simply made me more aware (now) of how often I turned to smoking to run away from issues in the past! New plan. I am going to have start therapy for the life issues ( hey, at least that is considered fashionable now!! ;) ) and I am going back on the patch....AGAIN.... and I have multiple things to keep myself busy. I am completely starting all of the steps over, and my quit day is 16 (I think) days away. I will be here at least once a day, and this time I am really going to put the effort into preparation. All my life I have been a person who rushes things. I'm excited and gung-ho in the beginning, then I start slipping fast. I seem to have a problem with the follow through...lol This time failure is NOT an option. I dropped out of school at 16 and had a really rough life. In the past 3 years I have gone from homeless and penniless(literally) to married to a good man, driving a new car, having a roof over my head, and now working on my 2nd college degree with a 3.9 GPA. I'll be darned if smoking will get the best of me this time! Anyway, I'm back, and I hope that I will be able to utilize this site more effectively than I did previously, and help others as well! A quote for today

I found this the other day and thought "wow, now I can share it with people who will truly get it!"
Nicotine patches are great. Stick one over each eye and you can't find your cigarettes. ~Author Unknown
I hope everyone can smile at this. Have a great day! :8|:Back on the wagon! :8|: My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/17/2007 Smoke-Free Days: -16 Cigarettes Not Smoked: -320 Amount Saved: $-67.36 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: -101838

Thanks Kev! Although I doubt I would've admitted as much if it wasn't anonymous! :) It looks like you are doing well!
