Can I reset my milage?

I'm really upset with myself, I slipped. Alot. I smoked an entire pack yesterday, out of anger at my husband I think, and I usually only smoked 1/2 a pack before I quit. I'm embarrassed at being so weak too. I mean, I know my triggers, I have the nozzle thingy for goodness sake!!!! but I got so sick of not having any support in this, from him and others in the "real world". All week my husband has offered, or asked "want to have a smoke with me?" And all week I said no, you know I'm trying to quit! I felt like he was intentionally trying to sabatoge me, but I held on. After a fight we had yesterday (not related to this) I went to the freezer, grabbed a pack of his, and smoked. I WANT to reset my milage if possible too, because looking at it now just feels wrong. I'm back on the patch today, but so dissappointed. Can I reset my milage?

Thanks so much everyone! I'm on day two (again)..sigh....and it's not too bad, I did notice that when hubby decided to drink last night and smoke an entire pack in 4 hours (OMG!) I actually didn't have the urge, mostly because I was too busy noticing 1 - how unattractive it really is 2 - my god it stinks, and 3 - I was watching him cough, continuously, and watching for part of his lung to pop out! I do have news, also. Rob (the infamous hubby) has decided that he is quitting tomorrow. Now this could be because he feels like crap due to the vast amount of tar and nicotine from last night and may not last...lol but I have not even suggested him quitting lately, so for once it is his idea..I know that I'll enjoy not having it around, and I have locked spiteful wife in the closet for now, well, until the trash needs to go out anyway. Oh or the toilet seat is up. Oh oh and the roll is empty...hmm, I hear her now...lol He is buying a box of patches for himself in the morning soo....I may buy him a nozzle thingy too!! ;pALL HAIL THE NOZZLE THINGY! ;p Jess My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/4/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 59 Amount Saved: $8.42 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 5 Mins: 19 Seconds: 17

Using the patch!

Hello all. I've never written on a forum like this and I'm pretty new at it. I quit smoking a few days ago and am having a bit of trouble, but I'm hanging in there! My husband, on the other hand, keeps making excuses. I don't know, maybe he's scared.....I'm pretty surprised at his behavior though. I've smoked for about 16 years now, and so far it's not too bad. I look forward to saving money, who doesn't, and am simply hoping to improve my health! Good luck to everyone.

Using the patch!

I think the hardest factor i'm trying to cope with is actually my husband. So far he has put off quitting every month since January. It's always "I'm going to wait because....." and there are a number of excuses. I am serious about quitting, but it's hard when he smokes. I refuse to back down, but when he lights up I want to also! So far, he only goes outside to smoke if I'm home, otherwise I can come home and smell it through the house! He has kept them out of the bedroom (thankfully) but I can't stay locked up all the time :) He's supportive in my effort I guess, but only if it's not an inconvienence to him. How on earth do I handle living with a smoker and still keep my resolve to quit? Using the patch!

Thanks everyone. You know, it's crazy but my emotions have been in turmoil for the past few days, and reading your posts and replies have almost moved me to tears..Perhaps it's the stress of quitting, but I am so grateful! please help me make it work this time

Trust me, I definately know how you feel right now! I don't know if this will help you, but it works for me - as far as water goes, I'm early in my quit and everyone here has been so great, but I still have those moments when the urge to smoke is sooo tempting. I keep a bottle of water with me all the time, and it wasn't really doing the trick until I bought a bottle with the little nozzel thing at the top. I think it's the sucking sensation, but it has been an incredible improvement in the way it tames the urge. Good luck to you! Couch Potatos Unite! A couch potato's workout thread!

I hope you all don't mind my joining!! I work from home, on the computer, and am taking online courses for my bachelor's degree. Since my hubby works swing shift, and his schedule changes every 2 weeks I keep his schedule as well. This sucks because it means I lead a very sedentary lifestyle. We have no children together, so often the highlight of my day is walking the 30 feet to the mailbox...lol I have struggled with my weight for years, since I was a teen, and so the though of weight gain had me very tense when I first decided to quit, and frankly I still refuse to exercise in front of people. This is what I do at least every other day, and I hope to increase it to a daily schedule as it gets easier without the smokes! I bought a DVD called Weight Loss Pilates - you pick the level 1-3, and follow the routine, and it takes about 35 minutes and raises your heart rate from the very beginning so I love it. I follow this with a routine using that huge work out ball thing. It came with a chart of exercises, so I just do 10-12 reps of each with I'm still sweaty and out of breath from the first workout...lol This usually lasts about 30-40 minutes too. I follow this with 40 minutes of yoga - this has helped to increase my flexibility, and is a wonderful way to stretch and cool down after all the others! I know that not everyone can spend two hours a day exercising, but it's perfect for the housewife, etc. and it really doesn't feel like a workout until the next day, I love it. I have lost about 65 pounds in the last year, and have only 30 more to go before I reach my reccommended weight of 135 lbs! Good luck to all! :pALL HAIL THE NOZZLE THINGY! ;p Jessica My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/4/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 61 Amount Saved: $12.63 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 5 Mins: 28 Seconds: 32
