Day one.......

Ok so i ran out of smokes (YEAH!) and decided "hey, I have the patches, what the heck am I waiting for?"so I put the first patch on the middle of my back last night ( too much pain in my arm last time - I'm a wimp! and away I go! Now it is 2am and I am wide awake - go figure... Anyway, I had certainly forgotten the vivid dreams! No idea why, because last night's was just as crazy as before and I swear the images will be seared into my brain forever. Keep in mind that I haven't given birth in 10 years but I had a toddler, so cute, and she was mad because the tv went off! So now I want a baby. Again. I had four babies. I figure this is the nicotine withdrawl talking here! :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/17/2007 Smoke-Free Days: -3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: -60 Amount Saved: $-12.63 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: -18543

Starting today :-)

Congrats on quitting Evie! Today is my 2nd first day...lol I tried a few months ago but it didn't work then. Are you using anything to quit or going at it cold turkey?? I'm using the patch....again...and had WILD dreams last night thanks to it, but otherwise it has definately taken the edge off! A word of advice - stay on here. I wish I had before and I may not have relapsed!! Lots of water, deep breaths, read, and post! GOOD LUCK! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/17/2007 Smoke-Free Days: -3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: -60 Amount Saved: $-12.63 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: -17235

Raised in a smoking household ?

Both of my parents smoked, my mother still does, and BOTH always told me not to! A prime example of "Do as I say, not as I do" My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/17/2007 Smoke-Free Days: -3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: -60 Amount Saved: $-12.63 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: -17172

On Day 2!

Ok, so I'm on day 2. It hasn't been terrible, and my hubby is trying to quit also. I did notice that we were a bit snippy to eachother today but that's not too bad - I'm so proud of him for giving it another shot! (Last time he didn't do so well...lol) Well, I have had a few cravings today. I haven't smoked, don't plan on it, but I hadn't realized that even doing the dishes is a trigger! I used to finish them and go have a smoke (usually at least half the time) and now.... well I have to find something else to do I guess...lol I have a new ritual after my shower now. Besides doing the lotion, creme, mask, body spray, perfume thing I am putting on make-up. While this sounds like no big deal let me tell you - I never pamper myself and almost never wear make-up unless it's a special occasion. Now the morning "getting around" lasts an hour instead of 10 minutes, but I DON"T smoke!!! On Day 2!

Thanks Sue and everyone! Day 2 just got alot harder. I don't know if it's the anxiety of quitting or what but my husband and I have been at eachothers throats since he got home. He went to bed early and I went to lay with him but since I got a distinct impression I was not welcome I am now on here fighting the urge to grab any butt I can find and smoke it. How disgusting is that? I would normally grab my book and go out to the porch and read to ease the tension on my part, but since I always smoked then it was too much of a temptation earlier so I did the right thing and came back inside...lol I'm aware that I shouldn't be whining about my relationship on here, but hey - I've got to tell someone and strangers are easier to tell your story to sometimes so feel free to ignore the past few sentences...lol I am really trying here, I don't want to fail at this again but I do feel like I'm at the end of my rope at the moment. Yeah, I know, "This too shall pass."
