10/4 Driver I hear you about the hangover. Many the time I,ve gone to work and hoped I would die before the day was over..If I may suggest keep using the patch it,s far to early to be testing yourself..I know their expensive when moneys tight but it,s a lot less expensive than the cost of repairing yourself.. XXOO Bear :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 12 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 227 Amount Saved: $120 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 23 Mins: 47 Seconds: 37

Hi Guys I think I should Explain why I,m here...I,m part of a study group sponsered by the addiction and reasearch foundation..The only reason I applied was that the patches are free..so my initial intention was not really to quit smoking..So as you can see thats why I,m still not sure ?? why I should deprive myself of the pleasure of smoking at my age inspite of all the health risks attached and even when several members of my family have died of cancer related to smoking.Sorry Candycane but death does,nt scare me it,s just another part of the journey no matter how it comes knocking.Sorry to sound so morbid but it,s just so you know.. Hi Changing (1) ??? (2)My intention was to encourage people here who are younger than myself to get out of this nicotine trap now before the conseqences of their smoking became more severe.(3)If your not gonna do it yourself don,t preach about it plus the support I,m getting here keeps me on the straight and narrow.I lucked out when I found this site other wise I,d still be smoking today. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 13 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 241 Amount Saved: $130 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 3 Mins: 56 Seconds: 5

Hi Changing My initial curiosity was that this was a legimate study that I could participate in and they provided 10 weeks of patches. Several months previous to this I received free patches but it was only for 5 weeks and I failed miserable and started smoking again..What I had,nt counted on was you guys being so supportive on this quit. So i,m kind of caught between a rock and a hard place!!!By the way I,m a Gemini so the one guy is saying this is good to quit smoking and the other guy is saying why bother at your age ???? I hope this sheds a little light on my dilema :confuse: My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 14 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 259 Amount Saved: $140 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 9 Mins: 43 Seconds: 24

Hi Guys I hope everybody had a nice day. Mine was excellent!! I rewarded myself with an illuminated keyboard so I would,nt be in the dark anymore :quest: I,m still getting a buzz when I put on the patch in the morning ??? But on the whole everthing seems to be coming together just fine. There seems to be more gals than guys on this site which just confirms my suspicion that women are smarter. ;p My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/21/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 14 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 263 Amount Saved: $140 Life Gained: Days: 3 Hrs: 11 Mins: 10 Seconds: 19

Hi Guys I just looked out the back door to check the bird feeders and I,ve got 4 pairs of gold finches at the feeders and its SNOWING !!!! and -10c is that any good ??? Hey Mercy thats a Teddy Bear you know the kind you like to cuddle up to :p I think really in the back of my mind it was the money that motivated me to consider quitting .I was spending $10.00 a day on cigars and all the time moaning about not having any money to do other things!! But as you all know the desire to smoke overides our common sense to do the sensible thing. How can you ***** about not having any money and spend $10.00 a day on nicotine so you smoke because you don,t have enough money!!Does that make any sense?? One of my major stressors when I retired was the money issue .When your income drops by 75% and your still living the same lifestyle you gotta know your headed for trouble..and that was the Bear. Its just amazing how much money you can end up with when you,re not spending 2 to 3 hundred a month on tobacco ;p
