60 Day Craves

Yeah, I agree. Like, there was a bit of a letup for a while, now it's bearing down again. I think a lot of it is the change in seasons, at least for me. I'm starting to encounter new triggers again. Certainly easier to deal with most of them, but really annoying. Another thing that's funny is the time dilation. It seems like years ago that I was a smoker. It was only 2 months. Two months! That's hardly any time at all, but if I didn't have the numbers in front of me, I'd swear it was 6 months ago. Who are the Febuary 07 Quitters?

Changing, I didn't even think about that. The lighter but no cigarettes, that is pretty cool. To tell you the truth, MomMom, I was a little nervy about the whole thing. It was either a sign from Above or an invitation from Below. Not knowing which, I left it there. But, given what Changing just pointed out to me, I think I know now. I am soo scared and yet excited!

Hi kcfangirl, Welcome to SSC. What's the best way? Probably whichever works for you. There are people here who used the patch, gum, Chantix, and those like me who quit cold turkey. There's no one right way. Whatever method you use, one of the things that can help make you successful is support, and you can get lots of it here. We're all quitters ourselves, at various stages in our quits, and we know how extremely hard it is. Everybody will help you as much as you let them. There's a bunch of good material in the quit program tools over to the left of the screen, and just read, read read through the forums. The more you know, and the better prepared you are, the better your odds are. I'm sure others will have more to say. Good Luck! Check in here, ask questions, yell for help if you need it. Hold on tight, Tutti. I don't know what triggered your crave, but you know it's not worth it. Somebody said it helps to drink a lot of water. Key lime pie brown rice is good, too. Monday Parade

The ONLY way to make a Monday morning better is by making it a non-smoking Monday. That's what I'm doing. Tutti, we're right here with you. Sorry to hear about your daughter, but you lighting up won't make things better, it will make them ____. (you fill in the blank). Here's a big, big (((HUG))) from me, your Febularian friend. C'mon guys, how about the rest of you? Tutti needs TLC. I know how tough it is. Hang in there. Be safe, Changing. We'll be here when you get back, and don't even THINK about smoking. While you're gone, I'm gonna start practicing the eye-rolling thing. This is the toughest fight I've ever fought.

MomMom, I think the mods should leave the duplicates. Some messages are so important that they bear repeating. Welcome, shafty, the SSC is the place to be. Excellent tools here, and I think the most important thing in making a quit successful is here as well -- the support. We're all addicts overcoming our addiction, and the more support we give each other, the more successful we all will be. So stick around, in between the anger, the tears, the fears and the craves, there's also a heck of a lot of laughs to be had. Like Lainey says, your quit can be as hard or as easy as you want -- it's all in the attitude.
