Hello Shafty Welcome to the SSC. Fill out the program bit on the left of the screen where it says 'You are Here' and then you stats will show at the end of your posts. I wish you luck in your quit and hope you will visit the site often to read and post. Good luck. Hi Shafty, Welcome to the SSC. There is a ton of support and advise on this site. You came to the right place for that. Are you using any NRT's or are you going cold turkey? Either way, my advise is to keep lots of coping mechanisms handy and drink lots of water. Keep positive and if the craves get to much to handle, come back here and we will all be here to help. You can read the old posts here and find so much info to help you. There are a ton of people who have already gone through this or are going through this now that can give you knowledge and advise you need. Congratulations on your quit!!!! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 48 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,211 Amount Saved: $240 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 3 Mins: 10 Seconds: 32

Hello All. This is not my first time trying to quit. I would love it to be my last time I try. Hopefully with a little support this will go along way. I've been reading some reply's you given to others. I can not help to think with all the support this will work. Any and all help will be appreciated.

MomMom, I think the mods should leave the duplicates. Some messages are so important that they bear repeating. Welcome, shafty, the SSC is the place to be. Excellent tools here, and I think the most important thing in making a quit successful is here as well -- the support. We're all addicts overcoming our addiction, and the more support we give each other, the more successful we all will be. So stick around, in between the anger, the tears, the fears and the craves, there's also a heck of a lot of laughs to be had. Like Lainey says, your quit can be as hard or as easy as you want -- it's all in the attitude. Hi Shafty, Many have tried and failed. Just remember that this time is your final quit. The other times were just practice. Besides, you have us to help you this time, and if I do say so myself, we are getting really good at it! Stay close, read, and post. Hi Shafty, Welcome!!! You will get all the support you need on this sight anytime you ask. I've made small attempts in the past and failed but this is the first time I have made it past a month and I couldn't have done it without the support and friends I made on this site. There is great advise and so much encouragement that if the will and desire are there with everyone's help here you can quit. There's no going back for me and this can be the final quit for you as well. Have you set a quit date yet and do you plan on using any kind of NRT? Stay close keep reading and post anytime you need!!
