Everything is Fine....BUT

To be honest, you guys really are fantastic. Thank you everyone for your support to this post. I reread everything this morning, and you guys are the best, and I won't forget all your supporting words. Your words stay with me through my cravings, and today is another great day. I've completed 13 full days, and rewarded myself this weekend with an air freshner for my car and a new CD to listen to in my car as I travel to work and kid events. One positive thing is my hubby on returning from deer camp said that my complexion looks great (ok, so he was with a bunch of scruffy men for 6 days, but I'll take it), but seriously, the bags under my eyes have disappeared and so has the dark circles. The color is back in my cheecks and I require less make-up to even out the skin tone. Smoking was sucking the life out of me...I feel a new hope for the future today. I'm so excited!! Life is good without smoking!!! WHOA.......OoooooUuuuuCcHh

I'm so proud of you....the "voices" can be overwhelming at times, but to recognize them and rationalize them and see them for what they really are is a huge step in the right direction. I actually had a conversation with myself recently and the voice told me to reward myself for almost two weeks of not smoking by buying a pack and having just one...lol...unbelievable...I purchased a CD instead. Be proud and enjoy the fresh air today. You deserve it after all that! Long Thanksgiving Weekend Advice

As Thanksgiving is just a couple of days away, and there are quite a few new quitters, I would be very interested in advice from those of you that have been through major holidays, and coping techniques for trigger's and cravings that we newbies maybe aren't anticipating. Your insight is invaluable to us. Much Better

Sparky, here is a huge HUG!!! Proud of you for making it through...one day at a time, one craving at a time. We can do this, and it's ok to lean on us. We are here for you!!! Think about some things you are happy about today by not smoking....does your breath smell better, are your clothes smelling better...things like that. Focus on the positives. The positives will grow each day that you don't smoke. ENOUGH WITH THE CRAP THE TIME IS NOW !!!!

Super, You are not alone....don't ever forget that. Like I said before, remember your reasons for the quit, these are so important. Look at all the others ahead of us. They have fantastic insight and resolve and set the example for us, and have cleared a path. We choose whether or not we walk down the path to be smoke free. Everything we need for support is right here, and I have faith you can do this!! You can make it through hell and heck week....start by just getting through today, and we will deal with tomorrow when you get up in the morning...one day at a time. New Member here

Welcome, and I can relate to the pain of flushing the cigs. In the very beginning of my quit, I slipped, bought a pack, smoked a half a cig, and threw the rest out my car window.....but I haven't looked back....and you can do it to. Cigerette's belong in the septic field and sewer's, not in our bodies. Post lot's and read everything, this site is so valuable for us quitter's and newbies! Welcome!!!!
