Good for you!!!!! You did the right thing. 20 days is fantastic and you were right to argue with yourself about why not to purchase that pack. It won't make you feel any better about the stressful interview, it will actually make it work. You need 10 minutes of rest and relaxation to calm down after the interview.....maybe snuggle up with a blanket and set a timer for 10 minutes and close your eyes. Good for you for being strong!!!! :)

That's great to hear...at first, I thought it was my imagination....or I was taking more time to apply makeup...but it isn't. There is an outwardly physical difference when you quit smoking...yet another great benefit to quitting...Thanks!

My urges aren't as severe as I thought they would be, but they are still there with a little emotional charge behind them. Emotional because I miss smoking when I'm idol and bored. I'm finding new and creative ways of filling my time and also allowing myself to be idol. It's ok to relax and watch an entire 1 hour show on TV and not jump up, and rush outside during the commercials to have a cigerette. We must learn to fill our idol time with hobbies and activities, but I believe it's also important to learn how to relax. Curl up on the couch with a blanket (that doesn't smell like smoke), and sit back and enjoy the quiet time. Sometimes life is about the small pleasures, and sometimes we forget that.

I'm on day 10 (completed 9 full days), and I wouldn't trust myself at a bar yet. I LOVE going out with friends and having a martini or two, but this is something I'm going to postpone for a little while. I will probably discuss it with SSC as New Year's starts to roll around, but until then, I'm protecting my new quit. Protect yours too.

Welcome Papal...you did it before..you can do it again. I can relate to smoking different amounts, except I would smoke a pack a day...but if I were out with the girls or having a party....I could smoke an entire pack in one night....that was not good....one of the reasons I wanted to quit. It's good to have you hear...read lot's, there is wonderful information on this site. You can do it!!!

Hi Erika,
Welcome, you picked a great place for support. I'm fairly new myself, only 9 days quit, but I have found so much great information and lots of great advice and support on this site. Keep reading and gathering information about your quit before your date. You can do this. My reasons for quitting were the same as yours so I know how you feel. You can do this. Be strong, and do this to make your life happier, healthier and free of this addiction. Welcome!!!
