Wow.....I can't wait until I have made it as far as you have. Our mind is a very powerful thing and I too struggle with the self image thing...weight is a HUGE issue for me but I am taking it a day at a time. You are an inspiration to us all...thanks for sharing those words of wisdom....DON'T be to hard on yourself.

Hey everyone, loved reading the support that is on here so thought I would join up. Wish I would have known about this site yesterday...it was BAD!!!! Made it through it so YIPPY, today is a good day. I am on the patch and determined to follow it through and then also ask for help once I am off it. Before I wanted to do it all on my own but now I know it's ok to need or get help to accomplish this. My husband and I are doing it together. I really want to make it this time.

I have just found this wonderful web site and wanted to say "thank you" to all of you that have helped get me through another day. It has really helped reading everyone's thoughts and encouragements, wish I had you all yesterday. I am joining the June-bugs roll call and hope I can also help someone else out that is doing this wonderful thing of quitting.

Just to let you know I found those "old time" snacks of cinnamin toothpicks and ordered some off the web. They are really great and are HELPING a lot. Very inexpensive too.

I want to say thank you to EVERYONE for making me feel welcome and making me feel like I can do it this time. I will definitely use you all...lol...to your limit. As I said before I am doing the patch thing, hoping that the mind part will be much less before the actual withdrawal. I actually prepared myself almost 6 months in advance but cutting down what I smoked. I am an anal retentive schedule person so I started scheduling when I could have a cig. I feel it really helped me on this mind game...just very nervous for when the nicotine is gone. Going to talk to a doc to get some help at that point because I DON'T want to be weak, I WANT to quit smoking this time. Now I am rambling....thanks again everyone I am SOOOOOOOOO glad I found this web site.

Elaine, I know I wouldn't be able to because I always smoked more when I was using diet pills. A suggestion I took off this web site was get fat free sour cream and spice it up with Ranch Dressing Packet or even some salsa and eat veggies with it. Also another suggestion is we ordered some of those "old time" cinnamin toothpicks that we used to get way back when. Shoot I am dating myself now. They just arrived and I am LOVING them. Did a search on google to find them. Tried to make them myself but if didn't work.

Elaine,
Stay strong girl, YOU CAN DO IT!!! That was a bad day for me too and I finally just let myself get mad and cry and scream and yell. It helped and I got through it. Didn't have this site yet but my hubby was a trooper, called him and he made me laugh. Don't give up, it is worth the work.
