Alley, i went & done the same thing a while back..
The rewards, the great tasting food, the smell-ovision, more quality time to enjoy the finer things in life & not to mention the $$$ at our disposal... life just keeps on getting better & these sorts of things make it all the more enjoiyable !
Just think, every time you get in you new car it be un-spoiled & have that non-astray smell.

Its good you have dogs, a good excuse to enjoy plenty of exercise.
Remember this.... smoking is simply 'addiction to nicotine'.
Wether we are smokers, re-formed smokers or ex-smokers, we all suffer from the same thing... 'nicotine addiction'. It is this addiction that has a hold over every one of us.
It helps to realise that we are fighting a drug addiction & that through our own choice we choose to live a life without nicotine dependancy.

Mookie, i don't know what 'lozengers' your'e on but when you stop smoking 'Cold Turkey' you go through 3 days of nicotine withdrawl, 3 weeks of physical adjustments & 100 to 130 days of emotional 'tug of war'.
The various Nicotine replacement therapy(s) (NRT) extend these 3 days of nicotine withdrawl to however long the course runs via a 'weaning off' period which can be up to 3 months :8o:.
We are all druggies, addiction to nicotine will stay with us for the rest of our lives, It jsut gets more bearable to live with.
Like anything - time heals.

yes, i feel very different but my wife says i'm still the same.
i've said this before...i started smoking when i was 20, i feel like before i smoked.. feels good.
what freaks me out is that i feel like i've spent the past 15 years smoking in a 'smoke haze' and something else,... i worked out i spent approx. $25,000 bucks on smokes over the last 15 years.........damn it !!!!
i might as well have thrown my hard earned cash down the bog.

I'll be frank.. No, this site has not helped me in my quit.
But thats because i had already made up my mind & was 3 months 'smoke free' before i came here. Nothing here has any influence over me or my quit. But, i was then & still am on a mission.
So i stumbled on this site in my initial search for knowledge, wisdom & power. This seems to be the only place that exists that makes for interesting reading & 'frank' discussion between us ex-smokers.
So i keep coming back & to hopefully help others in there journey to non-smokedom.

i'm not an old timer but yes, i could slip in a second.
I still enjoy the odd 'wiff' of a passing cigarette but i know for a fact that i wouldn't enjoy a cigarette & that i would have to re-learn to enjoy it.
One thing i've learnt...the information & knowledge i've gathered from reading & searching my addiction, i would have to be insane to start smoking again.
but saying this, we are still only human.
