Congrats on knocking the NRT on the head duckie. I am not personally a big fan of putting more of the stuff that you are addicted to in your body.. so I admire you for quitting it. It seems that you are getting stronger in your quit. I remember you earlier days and you were having a hard time of it. Look at you now, almost at 3 weeks! Wahoo! I loved the Allen Carr book, when I finally got the courage to read it (that took me 7 years to read it properly). I have a very old copy one of the original ones its a very small book which goes into a cardboard cigarette packet. So everytime you want to smoke, instead get the book out, and whatever your junkie head is telling you about smoking.. it kind of untells you. I still carry it around with me. I would keep a susbstitute, like sugar free gum with you, just in case. Am proud of you, you are doing brilliantly!! Hi Duckie, Allen Carr said 3 days 72 hours? Which is why I was often going mental by end of day 3 because the nicotine was leaving my body. Head soon gets used to it, and forgets to have a paddy.. as it knows it isnt going to win. Hi Duckie067, Every quit is different but on average it takes a few days. Almost 20 days! That's a great accomplishment! Have you given any thought to bringing along a coping mechanism just in case? Gum or candy perhaps? Have fun and let us know if your surgical mask was a big hit:) Danielle ___________________________ The SSC Support Team

Hi Niks! I am reading his book too =) I am on chpt 33 and I have been doing my meditation cd as well. The combo has really helped me this past week =) I have read several 'facts' where they say it is 3 days, then I have read where it is shorter, then longer, etc. I stopped the gum 2 days ago and I was only chewing 2 pieces. He is a great writer too Niks! I recently found him a few months back. I was skeptical about it until I began reading it. It was like he was literally holding my hand, and talking to ME! FINALLY!!! I was *so* relieved!! Now I am not scared anymore and I actually have MORE confidence than I had 3 weeks ago!! Even my finger nails are growing nice and long--I was a nail biter! WOW! I am seeing these positive changes and I feel like a new woman! I actually feel like my muses are being kind to me on this 3rd and final quit!! *giggles* I am branching out =)Yep! I grab the book if I feel the urge. I will re-read the chapter I am on again. I will be tested tomorrow. My GF is having a birthday party tomorrow. Her mom, her sister, and her hubby smokes. The house is always full of smoke. I do not have the urge at all and lately, the smell of smoke makes me want to throw up. I am half tempted to buy a surgical mask and wear it to the BD party! HAAHAHAHAAHAHAAHAHAH!!!!
