Longtime exsmokers question

Hi Mel :) I wish I could have read all the answers to your thread when I first quit. You have received some truly great replys from some truly great quitters. For me life did get easier. The longer I stay quit the easier it gets. I come here out of respect for the membership and try to lend a helping hand every now and then. I also read a lot and learn a lot, even today I am in a learning process and I will be 73 years young this coming July. Leaving nicotine addiction behind is truly a life changing process. It takes time, courage and the will to succeed and it can be done. Everyone is different to some quitting will be a breeze to others it will be a lot of pain. One thing about this site and its membership is that we are all dedicated to the same idea DONT SMOKE. Mel I hope you enjoy your quit and succeed. Post often and let us know how you are doing. Duffis duffis's Quit Stats Since Sunday, February 13, 2005, I've been smoke-free for: 1 Year(s), 57 Days, 8 Hours, 6 Minutes, 20 Seconds. I have saved $1,772.40 by not smoking 12670 cigarettes. By not smoking I have added 91 Days, 11 Hours, 50 Minutes, 46 seconds. to my life expectancy.

A Touchy Topic for me

Hi Eve hope you are doing well. I still get freaked out when I see one of my old posts pop up and that the membership is still using them to help others. When I first quit, that first 3 weeks, I said to my self...self dam you used to pay good money to get this spacy and looney toons. When I reached 6 months quit I realized that my thinking and perception was 10 times as strong as when I was a Psych major in college. It just takes time to re adjust to having your body free from the toxic poisons in cigarettes. Your mind and body are going through a healing process. I wouldn't get too upset about your friend. When it comes to relationships most guys are dumber than the first notch on a fence post. Give your self a few more days and then sit down with him and share your experiences about quitting. If he has been a smoker that quit he should definately understand what you are going through. Hang in there you can beat this terrible addiction. Duffis duffis's Quit Stats Since Sunday, February 13, 2005, I've been smoke-free for: 1 Year(s), 58 Days, 16 Hours, 3 Minutes, 55 Seconds. I have saved $1,776.60 by not smoking 12710 cigarettes. By not smoking I have added 91 Days, 18 Hours, 46 Minutes, 10 seconds. to my life expectancy.

I am lost in the thought..

Hi Cheryl :) I totally agree with Shevie and you did the right thing by posting your feelings. I went through the same thing only on a smaller scale. Enough though to know what you are feeling. Like you said the other night the snow is finally gone you are in a new season and it won't be long before the boat will be finished. In other words spring is here time to rejoice may be work with a garden or flower bed. Get involved with your life on a new scale, one that does not include smoking or thoughts there of. Parties are great and hosting one can be a challenge but it can be done and like Shevie said the next party will be easier and less demanding. Cheryl you are one strong individual. I have had the pleasure of watching you grow in your quit, read your posts and help you celebrate. 18 more days and you will hit that magic 300 mark that is the final turn on the road to freedom from nicotine addiction. I want to help you celebrate that day. With kindest regards, Duffis duffis's Quit Stats Since Sunday, February 13, 2005, I've been smoke-free for: 1 Year(s), 58 Days, 6 Hours, 40 Minutes, 16 Seconds. The Junkie Within

God I hate it when my kids are hurting :8o: Lady one of the reasons I started the Centruy Club, 6-12 Club and the VIP was for the very reasons you are going through. We all need a resting place after fighting so hard to reach a milestone. My whole idea was for a place where you could go and be honest. Yes I have been quit over a year and there are a FEW times that I get hit with this void of not smoking. The great thing about it is that I just remind myself that I don't smoke anymore and get on with my life. No it's not easy but it can be done and you have in the past beat this and you will continue to beat it back down when its ugly head arises. Lady you have a lot on your plate right now and many things that have to be dealt with; this smoking thing is very minor compared to the rest. Besides you know dam well nothing is going to take away your quit and I do mean nothing :) Love and hugs from both of us Duffis and Pete
