Good morning Bonbons. Congratulations on getting 5 days behind you, not an easy task but you are doing it. I don't know your age or gender but years ago ABC sports had a slogan "The thrill of victory or the agony of defeat".
The same thing applies to you at this very moment and it is your choice. Life is always choices, not all of which are painless.

Please let me stay strong today. My mind is messin with me!!

Now ask your self "is my mind really messin with me or am I really messin with my mind. Again another choice to make. That is part of junkie thinking that most addicts make early on in their quit. Any subjective reasoning to light up that dirty cigarette is fair game to your mind right now.
Trying to remember back to day 5 in my quit, I am reminded that this is "hell week" Next is "heck week" and on and on it goes. This morning I woke up. Some days I say thank you lord, and others I say WHAT DO YOU WANT NOW leave me alone. Life goes on and you have more choices to make. Today I am not going to smoke. That way my choice this morning. I hope it was yours.
Kindest regards,
Duffis

Congratulations on getting the start of your quit off and running. I know it is not easy but you are proving to yourself that it can be done. What part of Europe are you located? I have two great friends in France that are non smokers having been with us at the SSC. One is in Lyon and the other is in Carcassonne.
Keep up the quit one day at a time.

Dreamer you can do both. Don't get caught up in that trap. Focus man focus. Get your mind set into the job you are 6 days quit and that will come and go but the job won't. Trust me the quit does get easier getting the job won't.
Get your will, determination and desire to quit these dam killer sticks and you will win. Focus on your job skills and get everything on paper and presented. Tell your prospective employeer that you have quit smoking and the withdrawls are leaving you temp and only temp - a little on the edgy side.
Hang tough friend, you can do this.

Lady your source of inspiration has given you the gift. Not many even have the ability to recognize let alone use it. I am so happy that you are here at the SSC, you have provided this old man with many a moment of great joy.
Keep up your good works.

Hey Judy glad I got here before Golferman (LOL private joke) Here is what I think about the whole thing:

As a veteran of this quit process I can tell you that there are stumbling blocks along the way. Some are hum-dingers and others are just fleeting thoughts. Stop thinking. Yes I said "stop thinking" just do it. The only focus is N.O.P.E.
It does get easier as time goes on and thats a fact jack. There are beautiful days on the horizon and when they arrive enjoy them. The support here at the SSC is outstanding, people really care and will offer whatever help they can give.
You are 48 days quit!! why stop now you got this thing beat so start believing in your self. You cope and deal with things through determination and the will to succeed. Your little episode with the psyco-nico was a good lesson; leave it at that and get on with your life and quit. :)

Hey Mo here is a visual that Melanie suggested. Some times ya just got to suck it up and rimind yourself that your quit is your quit. If the old man wants to smoke tell him to take it outside.

He hides them and doesn't smoke around me - my brain just yells at me reminding me that the smokes are just an arms length away.

If you lead by example I am sure that when your husband sees that you can do it, he will follow. Remind him every now and then how much $$$ you are saving by not smoking.
Good luck MO and always remember that this is your life you are saving.
