Back to school feelings? Frantic, excited, apprehensive, engaged. I have 93 new students coming. For several years I have taught students I have taught before. So here I am back at the undiscovered country.

Black Pearl, I enjoyed hearing about your bunny. Maybe you can find a couple of minutes just for yourself in that tight schedule. Did you see anything in your dream that could be useful, even though it was a nightmare? I will be thinking of your sleep beauty time tomorrow, the night before the first day of school.

Hope, good luck with your week. Could be a getaway from routines.

Vincenza, I feel great about going back to school except that I'm a little distracted by my brother's encounter with cancer. I like to be busy, so if he doesn't need me up there, I'll be busy with my students.

Marylizy, hang in there. You are in NC FL, so I'm thinking you could go scalloping next weekend. It's a beautiful time to be out on the water... I'm thinking of you and hoping things will smooth out for you soon.

Camiol, job stress is huge even when we like our jobs. Thinking of you right now and hoping a good transition into the coming week for you.

It's been week of falling off my goal, but tonight I am strongly motivated. Two glasses, two hours apart, and dinner is over and I'm done. Why can't I be strongly motivated every night?

7 hours of uninterrupted sleep before the first day of school... that's unheard of for a teacher. We're always so excited to get started. Yet that's what I did. Several little rituals involved in that, including no alcohol after dinner.

Just after my confident last post, my husband came home with a Serious Important Talk, which was not resolved to his satisfaction when he went off to his Monday night activity.

It's not unusual for Serious Important Talks to come up during the transition from summer to school.

I am not going to "drink at" this issue.
