Hi Gang,

So to keep myself focused, dedicated, and health oriented.  I have join a team for a 'Tough Mudder' event in Septemeber of this year.  As my rowing machine (hand crafted) is due to arrive from Rhode Island.  This excites me, and I'm very much looking forward to punching myself back into a very strict training schedule.  For those of you who have never heard of 'Tough Mudder' here is a glimpse of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vh5HdPM_QuE

Hope all are well!

PJ, love the words to your song! They are very well spoken and heart felt. Keep it up!
No wine again tonight. Went to the grocery tonight after working with my friend all day and was REALLY tempted to buy some white wine. I thought about getting one of the mini bottles but was afraid I would then I would buy 2 tomorrow because I could handle one tonight. Too much of a temptation still. It is like I continuously want to drink and have to fight myself not to. I want to be a person who can drink one glass of wine and be done. I don't think I am that person.

ElizabethRRRR,

Dealing with my sister in law is a ticking time bomb, completely unpredictable and she keeps changing her attitude.  I understand stress of planning, but she keeps trying to kick my brother out of the apartment, she went at it again with him today.  The only thing that matters during these issues of childish adults is the safety of my Nephew, Nicholas.  I can only imagine the comotion he is hearing.

Such a little guy who has no need to be exposed to this senseless non-sense.

I won't have much a choice shortly to stand up and do something to protect him.  They are always yelling at eachother and she is kicking my brother out.

The foundation of this was, they went and looked at a puppy, and she wanted it so the bought it.  When they realized (I assumed they have never looked up on a pure bred Beagle) she was always howling.  When they put it up for sale, and the buyer came, she cried, and couldn't let go.  Now everyday my brother is being locked out from the dog, they are having a hard time finding an owner.  I'm thinking poor dog, everyone is calling her a bad dog, but they don't realize they are absolute horrible owners. I would love to rent an apartment and buy her off them, she's not a bad dog at all, she gets treated poorly.

I can't speak up to anyone, because I'm still a "Drunk" sure I have an Alcoholic problem, doesn't mean I speak out of context being sober.

Hi Gang,
I've been working on the writing/ song

far from done, this may even change, not sure I'm too happy with it

These feet have slipped into wet cement
It appears to be grounding me,
Your words of encouragement,
Sternly dance through the air waves,
Miles away, hardly far-off,
They continuously echo through my head.

It appears I have let myself go,
My grip, never grasping tightly enough.
It grew fragile, like a decaying pier, pounded by the ocean
Rotting, at its base.

Hi fellow MOGAS! It is good to see everyone's posts. Camiol it sounds like you are doing very well with moderation and not being so worried about abstinence. I think this site where we hold ourselves accountable with other people really helps. I am back to my not drinking after my one date night on Sat. However, sooner or later I hope to be able to just go to moderation and not have to be so disciplined. Right now I better hang right there for a while now. I am helping a friend with some work this week and I will be busy 9-5 each day. Tonight when I got home  I was glad there was no white wine here, because I was very tired and a glass of wine sounded good. I hope to one day be able to have just that one glass of wine and not keep on drinking. I hope everyone is well. MaryLiz I love hearing about your dating life. It sounds like you are really enjoying it. PJ, hope you are well tonight. And hello to all our new Mogas. Welcome and keep coming back. It helps.

Hi Gang, tonight marks day two of abstinence but I'm no longer striving for permanent abstinence, I'm taking this one day at a time.  I am feeling better about the control I have and thinking about my successes since joining this site has made me see that I have really improved a lot. I enjoy a drink on the weekends and I know that I don't have to get drunk to have fun.  I am learning new coping skills every day and I am not feeling so desperate to be totally abstinent.

I will post a pic of my puppy soon.  I always use my iPad and it seems I have to use my PC to upload photos to the site.  I will do it ASAP.  It seems everyone is doing well.  ElizabethRRRR its great to hear from you, I'm glad that your attitude is positive, that's very important.  I hope to see you post more often again.

Marylizy I know I've said it before but I'm saying it again.....I'm so glad you've met a nice man, you seem so happy now.

Hope everyone has a great night.

Morning all
ElizabethRRRR so good to hear from you. I am in the same boat. Trying hard to moderate and some days are better then others but in the big picture I am way ahead of where I was. You knows the tricks, nothing to drink in the house, go for a walk, make a cup of tea, etc, etc etc...But yes, a new man in my life. Very strange but I am enjoying every minute of his caring nature. "Brought him out" last night to my bar, the blues club I love and he got to meet some friends. Think he did well...Any way..Camiol, can you put a picture of the puppy up? I hope you are having fun with the new baby...enjoy the puppy breath while you can.. Sadie, good luck with your training. That is a good incentive to cut down on drinking. PJ hope you had a fun weekend and made some music with friends. Always good for the soul...Happy Monday everyone and will ck in later.

Wow, you all have been busy! Camiol has a new puppy! Marylizy has a fellow! PJ has future inlaws!

I've been looking in a couple of times a month. I'm having mixed success with my efforts to reduce, but I'm keeping a positive attitude. Work is nonstop this time of year-- mostly good, just a lot of it. So, onward.
