Hi ML

I think I know which ads you are talking about.  One is the lady trying to get in her car, another is a guy trying to put his clothes on, another is a guy trying to butter his toast.  I heard they are running different ones in different areas.  None of them can perform these simple tasks without smoking.  They are funny and exaggerated but at the same time they hit the nail on the head.  I think the ads really highlight the depth of the addiction.

Thinking of you often ML...................One trip around the sun........coming up.

Moss

ML, congratulations on reaching 11 months!  You're an inspiration to all of us!
I read an article the other day that one of the actors who played James Bond wants him to become a non-smoker.  There is no way somebody who smokes 4 packs a day can keep saving the world like he does!  Jumping off cliffs, skydiving, all the crazy things he does!  We'll have to wait and see if 007 stops too!  And if he decides to stop, I hope he uses this website!  LOL!

My Quit Date: 8/20/2008
Smoke-Free Days: 63

Thank you Moss for remembering my special date and thanks to my fellow No-Embers, without whom this would not be possible, and everyone else who has cheered me on.

There's a new ad campaign to quit smoking on tv - things one can't do as a non-smoker in the morning.  They are exaggerated but funny - and true.  More or less how one can't do anything without smoking and to learn one's triggers.  Even at 11 months, there are times I still reach for that pack of cigarettes that is no longer there but I've come a long way.  I watched a movie the other day where everyone was lighting up like crazy and it didn't bother me at all nor did I want to.

When I filled my prescription for Chantix last October, it just sat there until I was really ready.  It took me a little over a month to say that's it.  I think that's one of the biggies.  One has to be ready.  Without that commitment and sheer stubborness, I would have never made it this far.
