I had a similar experience a few weeks ago. I had a bad sore throat and cold....but yet...something was missing. It took me a day or so to realize...I WASN'T COUGHING!!!!
I got over it faster as well. So yeah, not smoking even makes getting sick easier!!!!!
I'm just lovin' this. The extra money in my pocket isn't too bad, either!

Truly I enjoyed reading your post! It was excellent.
Riverdale Man,
Its nice to see you on the boards. Glad your quit is moving nicely along. I'm sure your beagle just loves a smoke free atmosphere! I know my two beagles do!!!!!
I'm sure all pets do. They've been such a big part of my quit. They keep me grounded, bless their little howling hearts!!!!!
All the best,
Jan

You're really doin' this, Beckylynn!!!!! Hell and heck week over now. But you're right, keep your guard up! Or, as I've also heard it said, "Protect your quit at all costs."
You've got the right idea.
Cheers, Jan

I liked what you said, "life goes on whether you smoke or not." After wrapping my head around that, the question in my mind, "Why smoke?" makes a lot of sense. And smoking makes no sense at all.
Keep doin' what you're doin'.

Sending you love and positive energy across the pond. This is just one more hurdle in your quit smoking journey, and just as you had the strength to quit smoking, so shall you have that same strength to help you through recovering from this.
Thinking of you.

You have the strength to get through those first few days. They will be NOTHING compared to those first few days of not smoking. Think of how proud you're going to feel.
Perhaps you can give them some tips!!!!! Be prepared and be ready. Gum, water, candies, veggies, etc...
All the best to you,
Cheers, Jan
