5 Years Today

Lizzie,  I'm so glad you went on a well deserved shopping trip!!!!  Your quit has been a wonderful journey.  Not just for you...but for us...watching and learning.  Our beagles, affectionately called "the girls", just love my new smoke free lifestyle.  I always smoked outside, but I'm sure, bless their wee sensitive noses, that they could smell the pong of stale smoke as soon as I walked in the door.  Not smoking is a win win situation for everybody!!!!

Cheers,

Jan

coming up to a milestone...increased smoking thoughts

New Me,  what a great way to spend $2300.00!!!!!  I'd rather have the new floor too.  What a great idea to set yourself up with a special account.  Its a great reminder of the wonderful things you're doing for yourself.  Lady had some great advice, and I breathed a sigh of relief when I read it.  I'm not near a year quit yet, but reading posts from wonderful quitters like Lady help me to believe that one day that all, or nearly all thoughts of smoking and all the associations will actually go away.

Keep that quit going strong, New Me,

Cheers,  Jan

Hello Everyone

Karren,  Congratulations on 12 days of not smoking!  The first two weeks are the hardest.  If you arm yourself with some good coping tools you're well on your way!  Just as Patrick says, read, read, and read some more...and then post!  You've done that and as you can see the support is amazing.  Glad that you have joined us, and keep that precious quit moving right along!

Cheers,

Jan

I buckled

Judi,  ((((hugs)))))!!!!  I think the first thing here is for you NOT to beat yourself up.  That won't do any good.    Regroup - yes;  prepare your coping tools - yes;  give yourself a big hug - yes!!!!  Don't give up on yourself, 'cause we sure won't!  Glad you'll be using an NRT again, and even happier you've picked the quit date.  STAY CLOSE, because we're not going anywhere!  Post...post...post.

Thinking of you,

Jan

colorado cabin / $$$$$$$$$$$$/smokes

One Colorado cabin!!!!  That could be the start of the SSC wish list.  How about a wonderful Caribbean cruise for all our wonderful SSC members????  Any more for the wish list.  Like Astro says, sure is a better way to spend money.  Who wants to pay good money for all the problems and sickness smoking can cause?  Food for thought.  Food?  Did someone mention food???

Cheers,

Jan
