Back to Basics!

I am definitely planning on an easy day!  I'm going to take the dogs for a walk.  I find that very relaxing.  And then I'm going to treat myself to some whimsical things for the garden!
Oh, and American Idol?  Wouldn't miss it.  Down to the last two!!!!  Here's to David Cook!

Cheers,  Jan

Back to Basics!

Tresa,
Did you say you were going to Vancouver Island?  I'm in Ontario, near Toronto.  The weather here is fair, around 17 degrees(celcius) today.  Its been quite a while since I used the fahrenheit scale.  Probably around 65 degrees.
I'm sure the weather in British Columbia is warmer, however, if you google THE WEATHER NETWORK, that's our Canadian weather service and they'll have a detailed 7 day forecast for you.
Hope that helps,

Jan

Just Me, Checking in

Kelly,
I'm glad you posted.  Don't feel bad about your meds.  If you need them, take them.  I do.
Quitting smoking has always been a huge undertaking for me.  Everyday I fight for that happy face.  I don't physically crave nicotine, but something is missing.  I'm learning to be resourceful and I thank the dear Lord if I have a day where everything comes easily to me.
Right now my biggest worry or stressor if you will, is my lack of motivation.  I do what I must, but its a fight.  I'm hoping it comes back soon.  I'm sure it just takes time.
Time is the best of healers.

Thinking of you,

Jan

lack of motivation

Beckylynn,
Lack of motivation can be part of the quit.  Its always been a bit of a tough one for me.  But today, I took the dogs for a long walk, and honestly, when I got back home, I really felt good.  Go with the flow.  I have days where I feel great and I really take advantage of them.
The blah days do get fewer and far between.  I really try to listen to how I'm feeling, and I'm learning not to "judge" myself on my down days.  Now I block thoughts like, "you should be over it by now!"
The last time I went to see the doctor, he told me that it takes about 3 years to HONESTLY be over the quitting process.  And...God willing...one day at a time...I'm in for the long haul.
Hang in there!

Cheers,  Jan

60 days for MEEE!!!

Frankie,
You and your family have my prayers and postive thoughts.  You have been through a lot, and you should be proud of yourself for not smoking.  Smoking doesn't help matters, it just complicates them.  Your family needs you to healthy and that's all part of not smoking.
Hang in there and keep us posted.

Thinking of you,

Mike,
I'm so glad your wife is doing well.  You are both doing a wonderful thing to celebrate life.  I have the yellow "livestrong" wrist band and I wear it all the time.  Another reminder.
I'm going to check for the Livestrong Challenge up here in the Greater Toronto Area.
