January quitters

I just feel compelled to join this group of dog lovers. :) I like New Years No Nics but I'm up for any of them. Cheers! I'm actually saving up for a small motor boat so I've set a weekly auto transfer on my chequing account into my savings the amount of money I estimate I spent on smokes per week. Should be cool to watch it grow! I've never been to Mexico, myself. Do you like it? Have you been to the Caribbean and can you compare the two? That's actually one of the reasons I chose to quit now. We're off to Cuba at the end of February and I refuse to go on one more trip where I'm scrambling to get that last smoke in before going through airport security and then trying to juggle luggage at arrival so that I can have that first smoke off the airplane. Also, none of the friends we're traveling with smoke and I just don't want to be the outcast anymore! I've been to DR 3 times and this will be my second trip to Cuba. I didn't go anywhere the year before last and swore I'd never put in another entire New Brunswick winter without a break again! I think I actually had that seasonal malady you hear about. I've never felt so depressed in the winter before. Just bad timing?

Thanks. If I know there's a reason for it and that there is an end, I can deal with it. Just bad timing?

Oh, and I have discovered an upside to this congestion - I can't smell smoke on other people and be tempted. Of course, I can't tell how clean my house and car smell either but I'll take whatever benefit I can get! Just bad timing?

I'm doing good, thanks. Getting into the car to drive to work is a trigger, as is the drive home but with no smokes on hand it can be handled. At work I don't have any problems and at home it's more of an unconcious reaching for something no longer there, but besides the congestion and waking up an hour earlier every day that I have too, I'm hanging in. Not letting my guard down though! Stay strong everyone. I'm still here, too. And I hear you guys on the over eating. I've got melba toast and black licorice at my desk, and green tea to drink. Trying to stay away from the really high calorie/fat treats.
