I have a fruitless plum tree. Pretty flowers is all. Growing a sucker off it didn't help.

Spent some time working in the yard yesterday, cleaning up all the spent blooms on the lilies, trimming the fruitless plum tree a little too..it was a good afternoon. May look for a new tree this week..Well it's 5:30 am here and it will be time for my morning walk soon..Go to go for now..Have a nice day everyone..

Spring is almost here, and since we've had above average temperatures the past few weeks, our bulbs have already started to flower. We planted them last year, so this is their second season and they're bigger this year. So far we some freesias out, and the ranunculi all have buds too.

I'm most looking forward to my little Japanese Maple tree sprouting new shoots again. It's not much to look at now, a few gangly branches, but this will be the first spring since I got it. Also, Mum bought a nectarine tree a few weeks ago and it seems to be doing well. We might have a few yummy nectarines for summer.

Happy gardening,
Kaitie.

Yesterday was cooler so I managed to weed quite a bit and till the summer fallow. Garden looks good except for the spinach that doesn't like the heat. Broad beens are full of flowers, pole beans are filling the teepee's and starting to flower.
Cabbage etc are slow because they were put in late. squash have flowers but only one pumpkin, the other died. No watermelon yet. Lots of green tomatoes and peppers have started. Dried more Oregano so I have all I want. Thyme needs to be picked again, it is in a flower bed so I forget it. Need to check the Lavender. Waiting for a rainy day so I can make pesto instead of watering. I will be too tired to water. How much Pesto do I need. I should figure that out. I did manage to sit in the garden for a bit, but it is hot even in the shade. Some people I know took their dog hiking in the mountains and it died even though it cooled off in a lake. People forget their pets get hot too. And this is northern BC. the south must be horrible. Years ago I almost bought there. Might get rain in a couple of days, might not, hard to tell in the mountains. I know if we do I will enjoy it.

I made pesto yesterday.  It rained today, and I missed the slim chance to trim the weeds.  It's going to continue raining for a day.

There have been like four days this year I didn't have to water. Even todays rain was barely enough to hold the dust down. It is dry again. Tomorrow I start watering fruit trees. Monday we are back to hot again. My neighbour is coming over for raspberries tomorrow, I can't keep up with them. I already have probably as many as I need. Basil could be cut again but Ill let it get a bit bigger. More pesto.

So dry the dandelions are dying. Grass is turning yellow.

No bugs though, that is nice.

We got rain, so it's been a good summer for not having to water, and I didn't have to take out the hedge trimmer either.

Sometimes the thought enters my mind that Thomas sent Jasper. He is an odd little cat that knows what a house is so he definitely was not a barn cat. He is friendly but I think was not treated well, he scares easy. And he certainly can talk.
I will never know if he escaped from someones car when they stopped at the rest area behind my property or whether he was thrown out. He was very hungry though when he showed up.

I don't travel very far anymore. I might if I had a more dependable car. Might not, I don't have the money any more. I had an umbilical hernia sort of unintentionally fixed with my last operation. So far so good. My fear of any operation is infection only. I don't know what to say about chronic pain. I have it but also have a very high pain threshold. I seldom notice it. More I notice when it limits movement. I really hate it when I stumble over things or can't lift something. And I have to watch every step so I don't fall. So picking Raspberries has been a bit of pain. Literally and figuratively. Life goes on.
I think I want a coffee this morning, I have been drinking tea.

I'm sure you will figure it out and make the right decision and at the right time. Till then enjoy each day.

It rained a bit but not enough and now the sun is coming out. Going to be a nice day if it doesn't get too hot.

Davit,

Nice pic of you and Thomas. Funny how the new cat Jasper appeared shortly after Thomas passed..Makes me wonder if their is a bit of Thomas in this new kitty of yours..He does have a lot to say doesn't he. You'll have to put up a pic of the two of you once he tames down a bit. Things sound peaceful and beautiful as usual up your way..May be one of these days we will get a chance to visit..I still have lots on my plate right now with doctors and possible hernia surgery and classes and such. I am still going to consults with surgeons and seeing what my options are..I haven't found one I trust or am comfortable with yet. They tell me they can fix the hernias but I may have chronic pain after that. In the mean time to get to emergency if the pain gets bad..So I am kind of in a wait and see pattern right now..Dammed if I do and dammed if I don't. I am also going to weekly diabetes classes and then I will be seeing a dietitian one on one after that.. We will have to see if I can get my health better before I can travel again..I have not felt up to traveling since I had my kidney surgery last year. I have been very tired ever since..For now we have been sticking close to home.  We have been taking it easy when we can and resting here at home when we get a chance..Yes my plate if full right now..

I find my interested have change too..Life is a changing..My friend..

That tree by my shoulder has really grown, it produces at least seven large pails of apples now. I need a ladder to get most of them.
