Small Steps Equal Success

When I was growing up in farming country. children didn't wear socks and some times shoes. Little boys wore short pants and little girls dresses with out panties or stockings because they just lost them. Kids wreck cloths. When they were old enough to be responsible boys got long pants and girls got big girl panties. Something to be proud of, a badge that said you were all grown up and responsible.
This may be where the saying comes from. Sayings are based on fact somewhere.

And sometimes they say a lot about people. Like horse shoes. There is a storey behind putting a horse shoe over your door for luck. That isn't important, what is is how you hang it. It is supposed to be hung on a peg and not because there were few nails. If you nail it with the legs up you will never loose your luck. If you hang it on a peg a bit crooked your luck will shower down on all those who pass through your door. How you hang it says what sort of person you are. Selfish or generous. It is a lot more work to put in a peg, but it is worth it in the long run.

Hi Hug, LOL

Big Girl Panties is just a saying like big girl pants or if your a male it would be the same as saying your a Big Boy now so go deal with it..put on your big boy pants

If your female it would be the same thing your a Big Girl and all grown up so Take the Bull By the Horns and deal with it or what ever problems you my be are having.

Hugs don't worry It's save to look that one up. It just a saying and harmless really. Now put on your Cowboy Boots and hat and kick some butt surfing the net for that one..

Hi Red, Without changing your avatar, since it will be edited, what are "big girl" panties? My gut reaction was to go and have my chest waxed, and my back, but I'm afraid to because of the movie with Stephen Carrell(from The Office). I actually tried asking the salon about getting wax on my pants(my real fear was getting hot wax burning me somewhere else), but I couldn't make heads or tails(no pun intended) of what the person was saying. And I'm definitely not googling "Big Girl panties" because I don't want to spoil my pristine image of you

Been out doing exposure work this morning and back.
Relaxing at home this afternoon as a reward with a cup of tea and little cat nap.

It is a small community and we help each other. Peter will dig up a rhubarb plant for me that he has too many of. A hard to come by variety that I have special need of for one of my hobbies.

Everyone.

An example of a CBT technique of mine that works. When I got home last evening I was hungry and ate too much, of course this is going to disrupt sleep. 3:00 in the morning I'm awake bordering on a panic attack which I took 2 whole minutes to shut down with this technique. It was a very claustrophobic vision and quite terrifying. But it was also very unrealistic even though it seemed real. First step was to say this is not real and is not happening. Second was to break it into pieces since it was made up of different situations pieced together in a montage of negativity. None of them on their own negative. Pieces of this dream were from as far back as fifteen years. The only common things were that it was winter and I was scared. As I took it apart I quickly realized none of it was possible and there was no reason for the unreasonable panic. Satisfied that I was okay I went back to sleep. Panic attacks or in my case attempts to panic are never real, they just appear so, so if you can take them apart like this they die. It takes practise but it works. Years ago I would have gone full blown and be terrified for hours.

Lol It took longer to explain how I make wine to peter than it took them to press out 800 pounds of apples. It took five hours to show him, with him writing down every step. Next time will be quicker. We did have lunch and tea at the same time though. And some good conversation. He had a copy of  the paper with the article about me and as I guessed it is in accurate and a few things not true. It is also poorly written wandering all over. Like a grade school kid would write.
I'm disappointed, not mad. Nice pic of the train though.

Off to PG tomorrow, I wonder how I will handle it. I do so dislike losing a day.

Peter paid for his apple juice so his wine will be roughly $3.00 a bottle. Where mine is around a dollar a bottle. He will get 28 bottles. The community had a cider pressing day with people buying apples to press and the profit going to the community fund, most likely to go towards the school. We own our school. The pressed juice not counting labour is still way cheaper than buying. I didn't go because I have my own press and my own apples. Peter has apples but they make poor juice and worse wine.

A furnace has three thermometers and some have a summer winter setting.  The thermostat on the wall tells it when to come on and then a thermometer that you can't see tells it when to shut off because the firebox is hot enough another one that works in conjunction with the second tells the fan to start up. And it will run for a bit after the furnace quits burning. When all is working right it doesn't run too long after unless the filters are dirty or the fan belt slips and it can't remove the heat from the firebox fast enough. In this case also the furnace fire will come on and off often. In oil fired furnaces if the injector is dirty the fan will cool the fire box too fast and the fan will cycle on and off too often. All the thermostat on the wall controls is whether the fire should be started, once started the other thermostats (thermocouples) take over till the one on the wall shuts the fire off. If the thermocouples are damaged the furnace won't run at all.  If the fan runs too long it is likely because it is running too slow. A furnace should start up and run smoothly till the thermostat on the wall shuts it off then the fan should run a very short time longer because the fan should be keeping the fire box just a few degrees above kick in temperature.  Fan belt should have only a deflection of about an inch when pushed hard with your thumb. It should turn easy and not squeak. There should be oil cups or grease fittings on the bearings. Don't over oil it attracts dirt and makes it worse. Bearings don't wear out but if they have rubber mounts the mounts can crack and the belt will be loose.
