Hi 4my2girls, For fruit ... examples: Watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew ... get a melon ball scooper and pre scoop the melons and put them in their own containers or zip loc bags. Grapes ... take them off the vine, pre wash them and put them in a drain bowl in the fridge. Take some of the grapes and put them in a zip loc and freeze them. Then munch on the frozen grapes when watching a movie. Another great idea for all of your veggies. When you get home from shopping, prepare all your veggies and fruits right then and there. Clean them and put them in zip loc baggies. They are now all ready to cook or to eat raw. If you do this ... trust me ... you will not end up wasting food ... it will all get eaten ... because it is now more 'assessable'. My ipod and I went to the gym tonight. I had a really good work out. The music really helped to keep me focused on my exercise. I didn't loose any weight this week either. I'm not really happy about it. But I know it is because I didn't stick to my diet. I'm going to do better this week. I would like to loose at least 2 pounds this week. I feel skinnier ... but my scale says otherwise ... LOL! Mira ... don't let it get you down. When I first started dieting and working out ... I didn't loose any weight and I gained some for the first 2 or 3 weeks ... but after that the pounds started falling off. I just stayed the course and I lost 30 pounds in 3 months. My trainer told me that when we first start the body kinda goes into shock and says hey why am I not getting any food ... so it tries to store fat. Eventually it will let go. Keep it up ... you are doing great. I have been working out and sticking to my diet a lot better this week and I do not think I have lost any weight. In fact I think I have gained. I am not happy about this at all. We'll see what shows up on Thursday. My hubby reminded me that last time I did this ... I did not start seeing results until the 3rd week. Ugh! You are the :) BEST :) Breaking Free - Thanks!! I have just added to another thread that today I want to eat the world and then ask for dessert. Unfortunately since starting my quit I have found biscuits (cookies) in a BIG way! (And the calories have found me. eeek) I have tried to stick to the more sensible bikkies (no chocolate, no cream filling etc) but even the sad plain ones add up. My original plan was to let myself go on the eating stuff for the first 2 weeks - just tackle one thing at a time scenario. But my first 2 weeks are finished now so I have no more excuses! Oh No! If I convert kilograms to pounds then I weigh in at 193 pounds and I want to get down to 154 pounds. I've put on a lot of weight in the past 6 years what with marrying a good cook and having a baby. And always in the past my excuse for not quitting the ciggies was that I would lose weight first. Hah right! Just because someone smokes doesn't mean they never gain weight! So after all that blather - My plan to lose weight is: * On fine days when I'm not working go for 40 minute walk pushing the pram. * On cold, rainy days (it's winter here in Australia) I plan to do my yoga DVD when my 2 year old naps (she joins in by climbing on me). * I won't eat more than 4 biscuits a day. * I will ask my husband to serve less lavish platefuls at dinner. * I will eat a healthy breakfast. Me & Lexi (Alexandra the 2 year old) went for our 40 minute walk this morning. I had porridge for breakfast and a tomato sandwich for lunch, with some dried fruit afterwards. The SSC Waist Watchers are going to be the sexiest, slimmest, healthiest, grooviest non-smokers on the planet! take care chickstarr :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/16/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 17 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 510 Amount Saved: $212.5 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 9 Mins: 56 Seconds: 3
