Ok, previously my name was need2quit, so I'm not exactly new to the site. I completely fell off the wagon and resumed my familiar routine of a pack a day, and fell off the site for awhile (HUGE MISTAKE!).
It didn't start out that way, I was actually doing really well! Then I had a bad day, then a bad week, well you know how the rest goes. What started out as 1 turned into 1 a day, 3 a day, and before long I was right back at a pack and feeling horrible. In the past month and a half I have had a death in the family, amazing stress at school, and huge problems in my marriage recently, along with the continuous battle of an eating disorder and emotional problems. I am in no way saying these made me relapse, these problems simply made me more aware (now) of how often I turned to smoking to run away from issues in the past!
New plan. I am going to have start therapy for the life issues ( hey, at least that is considered fashionable now!! ;) ) and I am going back on the patch....AGAIN.... and I have multiple things to keep myself busy. I am completely starting all of the steps over, and my quit day is 16 (I think) days away. I will be here at least once a day, and this time I am really going to put the effort into preparation.
All my life I have been a person who rushes things. I'm excited and gung-ho in the beginning, then I start slipping fast. I seem to have a problem with the follow through...lol This time failure is NOT an option. I dropped out of school at 16 and had a really rough life. In the past 3 years I have gone from homeless and penniless(literally) to married to a good man, driving a new car, having a roof over my head, and now working on my 2nd college degree with a 3.9 GPA. I'll be darned if smoking will get the best of me this time!
Anyway, I'm back, and I hope that I will be able to utilize this site more effectively than I did previously, and help others as well!
