The Zyban is actually working!!!!

Jan, my mom's best friend quit using Zyban and she is in her early 70's and smoked her whole life. She's never felt better! My doctor actually mentioned it today if the Chantix (at increase dosage) does not help me as I had a mini-panic attack (which I can normally control but I couldn't today). I wish you continued success. Doctor increased my Chantix dosage

I'm pretty sure there are a few? using Chantix. I'm on it since December 24. The last two days, difficult cravings. Mostly related to work stress I think. I called my doctor and he said I should go to 3 1mg tablets daily for a few days. I did today and it seemed to helped. Anyone else ever been at this dose? I use to smoke 30 cigarettes daily for 30 years and I'm 44. Thanks. Question for those who've read the "book"

I'm afraid to talk about the book ;). It should be here within a week, and in the interim I'm reading other stuff from that site and other sites, all cancer sites, etc., etc. I've never had a quit like this. Good luck Lady and get to the doctor soon. I couldn't taper off cigs, for me it's all or nothing. Thanks for adding me to your buddy list! I'll add you too and I'm still figuring out IM! Marie

Medication Info - Cross Post

Chantix user here, love the product after trying everything out there. I plan on being on it for 2 courses, 24 weeks, and my doctor agrees. It's working for me. The only reason I'll go off it is if my mental clarity doesn't, well, clarify LOL. I do wonder how these receptor blockers work but I can't decipher the scientific print available for research so I'm going with the flow. Marie

Golden Nuggets - If I'm Supporting Others..........

:) I'm sure I'm not the only one Charlene who is hesitant posting to the newest quitters - I'm still making my way but you'll love it here. There are a great group of people all with the same goal - it makes my day to be able to pop in and check around on as many as I can. Marie

Quitter here, fell off the wagon and now I'm back on.

Gosh, darn! No, I'm in the Northeast, married to a Union Guy, that's close enough, no? I have a couple of military friends though! I say a special thanks to those who give their lives for our freedom every day. Nice to meet you Charlene, a real pleasure :) Marie

Having a bit of a rough go of it...

Hi Mellie, I'm glad you found this site. I found it by accident, but then there is no such thing as accidents. I found the tools just amazing. I spent a good 3 hours filing out the questionnaires and reading the Program Tools. Then you have the wonderful moderators - they are always there with a pat on the back. Then you also have the support of all these great people. It's a very nice place to be and to reach out when things seems like they're going wrong. Glad your husband is supportive. I'll leave the advice to the more experienced but I will say, you should definiely do the Program book and tools and use the Quit and Crave Meters. I'm keeping a journal. It's been keeping me going. Best wishes! Marie

007 Quitters, check in please :)

Nothing Charlene, we're just a bunch of people who quit around the same time and I hope we are still chatting away and reading about each others' days and weeks in 2008 :) I loved reading everyone's update. It inspires me and others I'm sure. To those on day 1, 2, etc. hang in there. My worst was day 2 and 3. I cried so much. As for those of us munching on food, oh my, I had no appetite for the first week of the quit and slowly it's coming back but now, bam, more food please, pass me food! I've been thinking about exercise as well - must get some good stuff fit into my day. Tough day at work again but straightened out a boss who finds is pleasurable to speak in a derogatory manner to everyone. I stood up to him and feel good for it. Today is another day under the belt for all of us. Hang in there everyone. Wonder if NewPapa is getting any sleep. Those first days are so vibrant in my memory as well.
