Faith... I meant to tell you: Your "not a chance" is making me feel more and more like this manic mother protecting her child. That would be my reaction if someone tried to take my quit away! LOL It's great to think that nobody can! I am in control now!... smoking? Not a chance!

I can relate to that. I realized yesterday that I always "hurried" home from wherever I was, so I could smoke. Being a closet smoker, I had to come home to smoke. I've "hurried" everywhere for many years, and that is going to take some time to change about myself. I was glad to hear someone else talk about being in a hurry. Makes me wonder how much random, spontaneous events I missed out on, because I was "hurrying" home to smoke.
Yes, Loulou... I got up this morning wondering what in the world I was going to do all day. I have plenty I could do, but am not very motivated. Hang in there!
Can't wait until I can say Week one is over! Congratulations to you! I, too, have enjoyed reading your posts. You've handled it all quite well. Please keep us posted when you get a chance!

Okay... how are you inserting your animations? It's driving me nuts! I want to play with the animations, and can't find how to insert them, copy/paste or whatever. :confuse:
I always forget to turn on my quit meter... posting again for that purpose. 65 Hours down and counting...

Reasons I am quitting:
I just found out I have the beginning of macular degeneration, at age 50. Photography is a passion of mine. I can't do it if I'm blind.
I like to exercise and be outdoors... the smoke finally caught up with me that I wasn't breathing so well to do the things I want.
I'm tired of hiding in the closet
I'm tired of rushing from one place to the next so I can smoke
I'm tired of thinking about smoking
I want to travel overseas and not worry about my next damn smoke
I want to live!
Thanks! I needed to be told that. When school starts next week, it will be nuts, and I usually try to work this week to offset some of it. Am thinking I'll just take one day this week and go to work, and otherwise, do what I'm doing. It won't be the end of the world, and I'm more important right now. Yes... always put pressure on myself. I am one of those people who think I always have to be productive. Hoping to get over that one of these days as well!
Big smoke starter: My ex-husband just stopped by to drop something off, and while we get along great, seeing him always makes me smoke after he leaves... immediately even if I didn't want one before. I felt the urge, wondered... gosh what do I do? I ate a couple of cashews and came here. Well... I now have a bit of an idea of what stressers are going to feel like! I lived! Back to MY lovely life!
Thank you all for your encouraging responses! I'm doing okay today. I don't even consider smoking for a minute. Smoking?... eewww who would want to do that filthy habit? I've had a bit of a headache today, and have been coughing. Guess it's "lung cleaning" time. I've lived through worse than this, so it will be okay. Chewing about 4 pieces of 2 mg nicorette each day has helped take off the edge, and I rewarded myself with an espresso machine yesterday, so tried it out this morning, and it was SOOO wonderful! I even feel like I have a bit of a brain back today! YEAH! Thanks again... when I get home and used to smoke, I come here instead, and I like this replacement much better!! :)

Good for you, New Papa! I'm on day 3, and have found if I replace the smoke times with something else, I forget about it (the empty space that used to be taken up with a cigarette). Coming here has helped a lot! Just find a healthy option for that smoke time, and it will help! Yeah for you!! One day almost done!!
ItsIronic, I love your animations... I'm going to have to get some of my own, because they make me laugh! Thanks for your support. Still have a headache, but know it will be better tomorrow. Not feeling too bad really. I left another post under my previous one called "Encourage me, please". The rewards are fun... it's all about nurturing ourselves, and cigs aren't nurturing us! Thanks for your support!
