Do you miss coughing, smelling bad, planning every act you perform around when you can have your next fix ? Of course you don't. Don't be fooled. Stay strong, stay busy, and use your coping plans.

Lainey I know what you mean. I have started to come out from under the fog and there really is a heightened awarness of things. It is like sensory overload sometimes ! I know my wife thinks I have "slipped over the edge" so to speak but she may have thought that anyway :) I think we are just experiencing what things look like, feel like, smell like and so on without being covered by a shroud of smoke and a fix of nicotine. Whatever it is, I am liking it !

Changing I went through a few days where I wouldn't read a "negative" post but the fact is we all need to be prepared and ever vigilant. Everyone needs to know that there will be trying times ahead but also shown that these obstacles can be overcome. We are in a life long marathon and that is why I think the advice of one minute, one hour, one day at a time applies regardless of how long our quit is. We just have to take a breath and get back in the race so keep your running shoes on :)
