Welcome Paula, I am a March 12 quitter myself. You have made it through the tough week. Not that there aren't more challenges ahead
but I know we can both stick with this. Like Phil said just keep looking forward.

I am using it and it has been helpful but you still have to "do the work". I have not had any of the few side effects mentioned like nausea though I was a little sleepy the first few days but that has now subsided.
Good Luck !

Windy I understand this is a mini triathalon but mini is a matter of perspective. I am guessing there aren't too many of us on this site that would even try one event in a mini triathalon! So you should be proud of what you are doing and who knows it might lead you to try the big one someday. Keep training, keep your quit and you will be back to age 15 form in no time !
Good luck and good job for staying quit for over 6 months.

I am a long time smoker 40+ years and a short time quitter, just on day 5. I am using Chantix and I think it has been helpful but whether you are using Chantix or voodoo ;) this is going to boil down to you making a choice to either quit or to smoke. I think you have made the choice you just need to have faith in your ability to do it and you can do it.
My experience so far with the Chantix is that it has moderated my craves. There are still craves but so far they have been mild to moderate. Sometimes they are persistant but that is when you have to pull out all those things you have worked on so far to get to this point.
Remember you just have to do this one minute, one hour, one day at a time. If you have cut down from 2 packs to 6 smokes a day I would think what you are doing now is harder than quitting. You just need to turn loose and look forward to your new smoke free life. Don't be afraid of the 18th, celebrate it ! You can do this and you will get plenty of support here.
Stay tuned in and post often we will all help you.
