Hang in there Delayette, one minute, one hour, one day at a time. You can do this.

Great news. You will be running in no time and just think, you won't run out of breath either ! Great job of not smoking under the circumstances. You have set a good example for all of us to think about when we get into the feeling sorry for ourselves mode.
Thanks for your inspiration.

Welcome Angela. Congratulations on your decision to stop smoking. I am using Chantix this time and it is helping. Though I am only 7 days into my quit I am already experiencing the benfits.
Come here often, there is a lot of help and support to be found.
Good Luck, you can do this.

Welcome Chops. Congratualtions on your decision to quit smoking. One thing that has helped me with the oral fixation is chewing on soda straws, as I am doing now :). It helps take the edge off. As others have noted, drink a lot water, come to this site often to read and post your experiences. You will find a lot of support here and that can be what makes the difference for you.

Way to go scaredycat-no-more. You are going to do fine. Just take things one minute, one hour, one day at a time. I am using Chantix as well and it has been very helpful but you have to stay vigilant and be prepared to cope with those challenges when they hit you. I know you can do it so stay strong!
