Hello! Looking for quit smoking buddies!/Geri

Welcome Geri. There are plenty of people that are on the messenger. Feel free to add me. I am only on it sporadically when I am home (shouldn't really be on it at work). Welcome to our group and get ready to KICK SOME ASH! Scared From the Weekend

Well, I can tell you what I did my first weekend. It's a little unconventional, but it worked. I took an old, empty pack of smokes. I printed out a bunch of sayings like: Just DON'T DO IT I don't smoke I don't like to smoke I don't even want to smoke. Smoking Kills I can do this. Not One Puff Ever I taped them to the outside of my pack (inside the celophane) and filled the pack with gum and hard candy. Turned out I didn't need to have it with me, but in case I went for the pack out of habit, there was a bunch of reasons right there to remind me of all the reasons I wanted to quit and something better inside the pack to keep my mouth busy. You can also get a drink with a straw and hold/chew that. Bottom line though, you have to want this. You have to want to quit and you have to get your mind on board. If you are ready mentally, there won't be anything that'll get you to pick up another smoke. That is by far my most powerful weapon against this addiction. I quit because I can. Day 4ers

Every smoke free day you have is a smoke free day for yourself. Every one counts and every one is as important as the next. Keep the quit...one day at a time. Ash Kickers Weekend

I'm not gonna do it. Not going to light up, take a puff, or otherwise partake in tobacco. Have a great weekend!
