TOP 10 SIGNS OF SSC ADDICTION

Finally, the laughing has subsided and I can type again. :) #15 You sit down at the computer to catch up the checkbook and pay bills, and end up posting encouragement instead. second week and im jonesin'!!!!!!

It goes that way for some, rawker. "my will power will get me through" "I feel better physically already" "I don't wanna disappoint myself" Good, strong words of encouragement, IMO. ;) Hang in there, rawker. You'll get through it and it gets better. Just hang on to your words. Retread.......................

Mrs. Payfer, this too shall pass!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Probably at home you don't have work to distract you. Plus you probably had more freedom to smoke at home, too. All that's ganging up on you. I remember grade school. Bullies would gang up on people, too. You've been through this before. You did it then, you can do it now. Hopefully, you're sound asleep right now and won't see this until tomorrow. :) Hang in there, Elizbeth. You can do it. Brent's vegetable soup.

Brent, am I correct in guessing bung means throw or toss. So "bung in pan" means "put into pan"? Southern born and raised, too. :) Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 255 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,118 Amount Saved: $969 Life Gained: Days: 47 Hrs: 16 Mins: 55 Seconds: 1

Got rid of my NRT!!

It gets easier, shadoww. Try drinking more water. That may help the itchy skin and it may also speed up clearing your lungs. Sleep disturbances for the first few weeks are also normal. Some sleep more, some less. I'm not really a monster

Glad you made it through the challenge, cincere. That took a lot of commitment, I know. But you did it and you're stronger for it. I don't know how old all your kids are, but 15 is plenty old enough to understand difficulty. They are watching you, cincere. And they understand much more than you may think, or than they would admit. They are seen their mother struggle with an addiction, and they are seeing her win. That's a great lesson to teach them. Not only about the dangers of nicotine and other drugs, but in determination, conviction, and plain old stick-to-itivness. Keep up the good quit, cincere. Congratulations on a month (more or less) quit. :) Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 255 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 5,114 Amount Saved: $969 Life Gained: Days: 47 Hrs: 16 Mins: 6 Seconds: 17

The Freedom Stage

Hi, rswfire. Your post smacks of junkie rationalization. Anything makes sense to you so long as it justifies or protects your nicotine addiction. As long as you continue to try to quit, learn from slips and try again, keep trying until you get it right, you have not failed. When you quit quitting, you have failed. Even if you quit quitting on the pretense of not wanting to fail. He's been lying to me all this time !

I'm so glad to hear things are working out good, Janet. For the record, I was more worried about your relationship than your quit. From your posts, your quit was solid in itself, but a relationship crumbling can threaten that. This is a perfect example of how controlling this addiction can be. Not only will it mess up our lives, but it messes up the lives of our loved ones. I has literally torn people apart. The only difference between this and heroin or cocaine is that it's legal. Don't be sorry for coming here. That's what we're here for, Janet.
