where are all the " oldies"....

Hi Katiequitter, Congratulations on remaining quit! There are many of us old timers around.....I like Flatlander's description of taking an "observational back seat." To tell the truth, time has taken over....time to be free and really live. I used to spend hours at SSC....9 months of my quit and many euros provided me with the finest bunch of friends that can be found anywhere. Now it is time to stand back a little and post now and again, for I feel that I can't let go quite yet....I'd miss so many of you. The great part is knowing that I do NOT miss the Nickodemon in my life! NEVER LOOK BACK, THE FUTURE IS AHEAD!!! Love to everyone, Lolly. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/25/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 436 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 15,285 Amount Saved: 2180 Life Gained: Days: 60 Hrs: 18 Mins: 20 Seconds: 21

February Hall Of Fame Recipient....

Dear Joe, If anyone should see their name up in lights in the Hall of Fame it is you! You have been one of the backbones of this site from the start of your quit, and, I think that your clever, to the point advice is what has helped so many! Wear that T-shirt with pride and use your key chain every day to remind you of how far you have come, and what a great contribution you have made. Many Congratulations!!! Lolly. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/25/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 436 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 15,285 Amount Saved: 2180 Life Gained: Days: 60 Hrs: 18 Mins: 21 Seconds: 31

TOP 10 SIGNS OF SSC ADDICTION

:p This is one of the funniest posts I have ever read! My name is Lolly and I have been an SSC-aholic for a very long time. It has been a fantastic addiction, and it has saved my life. Just when I think I am getting on with my new ex-smoking life, I check in here "to see if anyone I know is celebrating an anniversary," (my excuse) and away I go posting again! I love it all...PROUD TO BE AN SSC ADDICT!!! Lolly. :) :) :) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! help

Sheller, The only thing I will say is that you are at 21 days quit, and this is a hard time for most people. The first flush and adrenalin of trying has died down a bit and it all gets a bit samey, boring, whatever. This is the time to work really hard at staying positive and focusing on the reasons you originally quit. I appreciate that this is very hard when life beats you up with all these family issues. These issues will still be there whether you smoke or not!!! Having a cigarette will simply make you feel guilty on top of everything else. Don't do it to yourself. You are worth so much more. NO QUITTING IS NOT FUN!!! IT"S DAMN HARD WORK!!! It's a war... YOU -V- THE JUNKIE!! My money is on you!!! WHATEVER it takes, just don't smoke!!! Lolly. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/25/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 423 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 14,828 Amount Saved: 2115 Life Gained: Days: 58 Hrs: 22 Mins: 48 Seconds: 11

How Children Teach The Simplest Things like DETERMINATION

Denisey, What a truly delightful story and a true example of real love....sharing a problem. Children DO understand things so much better than we do, as their minds are uncluttered. They take us straight to the answer. My 3 year old grand daughter was my inspiration...her nickname is Lolly....look how far she has taken me. Your daughter will do the same for you and you will thank her for your life and your freedom! You are a very lucky lady! NEVER LOOK BACK, THE FUTURE IS AHEAD!!! Lolly. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/25/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 423 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 14,830 Amount Saved: 2115 Life Gained: Days: 58 Hrs: 22 Mins: 49 Seconds: 24

please, no tough love right now!!!

Dear Butterfly, You are hurting so badly right now, I can almost feel it! This can happen to anyone, and at any stage of a quit. I'm so glad you made that promise and I hope and pray you will be helped by the responses here. I suspect you will also struggle through this stage....for this is what it is.....and grow and learn from it! To have reached 160 days quit has taken strength of purpose, mind and spirit. You simply have to deny the Nicodemon yet again. I know it sounds so simple and yet is so difficult, but you have done it before and can do it again. Right now you are allowing the Nicodemon the privilege of entering your mind. He does not deserve this honour, as you are so much better than that. Deny him that and you will beat him. I think you wrote the post because you know all this and just need some support right now. We all did at some time....yours is now....stay strong and fight for your life!!! ((((HUGS)))) Lolly. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 11/25/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 497 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 17,418 Amount Saved: 2485 Life Gained: Days: 69 Hrs: 5 Mins: 50 Seconds: 27
