good for you leolibra, (are you on the cusp?) You will find that anything that stresses you will be a trigger to smoke. Smoking did dominate every aspect of our lives. It takes a while to live long enough to get through every situation without smoking..ie, your first road trip w/o nic, your first vacation w/o nic, your first fight with someone w/o nic, your first night out with friends w/o nic, your first everything w/o nic. We learn so much about ourselves and our lifestyles after we quit smoking. I had to cry alot to come to terms with some of it. But, so be it. I am not smoking. I am not slowly killing myself. Did you do the work on the left of the screen? When the withdrawal and cravings get bad, come here and read and post. Do whatever you need to to get through. Hang tough

Hi H,
It is very normal to think about smoking 24/7 when you first quit. So, just know that we were all there, but we are not smoking! You can do it. As the time passes, the cravings get weaker and you do feel better. Your thoughts will not be consumed with remembering NOT to smoke. Hang in there, chew on straws, suck mints or candy, go for alot of walks. Your lifestyle is going to change, go with it.

It is a great confidence builder to make it through a new situation that is a trigger to smoke! You are stronger now and more committed than ever to your new smoke free lifestyle. That was perfect that another quitter was there with you. The universe was making it a little easier for you! Congratulations, mummy!

Hello all,
I am so glad that the bad craving is over. I went out tonight with a few friends, after work. It was pleasant, fun, and social; and SMOKE FREE! My roomie was in the minority. He smoked and no one else did. And what a fun group. They had fun, but knew when to call it because of responsibilities; all three had to work tomorrow. I am learning that as a non smoker, i do not have to go to the extremes. I usually closed the place down. Addicts are extremeists???? I DIDN'T SMOKE. FROM, AN ADDICT EXTEMEIST WHO IS TAKING BACK CONTROL. Thanks everyone for helping me learn this valuable principle.
