Way to go ex-slave, another hurdle over and done with. Sometimes we just have to remind ourselves that we need to be very aware of our minds and give ourselves many, many positive thoughts. You are doing awesome, keep up the great quit. Pilates should help ... breathing ... exercising ... really feel the toxins leaving your body as you breath ... as you sweat from exercising ... And don't forget to talk positive to yourself. Tell yourself that you love you, that you want good things for you, your body, your life. Smoking just does not fit into that equation. Do you still have nicotine in your system? Are you on a NRT? Do you hang out with smokers in enclosed spaces? Just curious as to whether it is a possible withdrawal or is a craving? If it isn't withdrawal and it is a craving, you have some serious junkie thinking going on. If your junkie thinking is telling you that you want a sickerette for some reason ... talk right back to it and tell it where to go. At 80 some days I still have triggers, but I talk right back to them immediately. I refuse to let it turn into a full blown crave. And you can do the same thing. Have a verbal confrontation with that ol' Nico-demon. Tell him to go take a flying leap ... a million times if you have to. As you are telling him where to go, get busy doing something else ... something else that you enjoy. If I could fight Nico-demon for you I would. Please hang in there and use your coping skills. Ex-slave, That's such great news! You've passed both of these tests with flying colors! Reward yourself for handling both situations so well and smoke free! Keep up the great progress! Danielle _____________________ The SSC Support Team

thanks bf and marie, I am back. I did 10 minutes on the treadmill and then the hour long pilates class. I haven't done cardio for a few weeks. I got short of breath (more than normal). I have been taking antibiotics for this stupid staph/strep rash I got at the corners of my mouth. It goes away, and then it comes back after about 2 weeks. I"ve taken 2 rounds of this antibiotic (80 pills), plus I use this cream everyday. Maybe it is a side effect of the antibiotic?? But, the good news; the crave is passing. I came home and the first thing I saw was my roomies' friend's cigarettes on my kitchen table. I just picked them up, put them in his hip pouch so they were out of site and went to my room to change clothes. In the past, I would have stolen one of those cigs; so that is progress for me! Yes, BF, I do work in a smoking environment. But, it is not enclosed, and the ventilation is good. I also wear one of those ionic breeze air purifiers around my neck all day. Thanks Marie, I rewarded myself yesterday with a nice shampoo and haircut at the salon. It was relaxing. And last week, I went out and bought some, HOW shall I say this?; larger clothes! I am going on vacation to Chicago on 8/7 for 8 days. I needed some new summer clothes. Well, they aren't new. I shopped at the consignment store because I don't plan on having to wear these larger clothes for over 6 months or so. Next summer we will all be back in our pre-quit clothes, RIGHT?? I am clamed down now..exercise really does help; it is just getting my a$$ to the gym. My goal is 2 times a week to start. I will read here for a while and then have a nice dinner that my roomie made.. chix breast, veges, and rossuto with currants! Nice to have a man around that can actually cook!!! I DIDN'T SMOKE!!!
