Im not doing too good tonight

Hi All,   just an update,  for the the first time in 13 or so years I feel hopeful, I have started therapy, I guess I will go every 2 weeks, found out I have alot of unresolved issues, dating back as long as 30 yrs. I was told all issues will be dealt with sooner or later, but when you stack then up, you deal with them indirectly by anxiety or panic.  So the long journey begins to come to terms with everything, one step at a time.  I am kinda overwhelmed on how long the road will be, but I am a strong person and I know I'll come out the other side feeling even better than ever. I have to try very hard to be positive, I come from a family that is full of negativity, so my faith is my best support and this web site, which really is great, wish i knew about it sooner.   any advice is welcomed, I really feel better most times just knowing that there are so many caring people on this site.  thanks !   jaybe

Social acceptance and the incidence of Depression and Anxiety

Ashley,  I think that would be true, I was very shy in high school, and did not have many friends and sometimes i remember being teased in grade school.  I think it also helps if you feel accepted by your family too.   I didn't have the support there either.  My parents were just worried we would get in trouble and spent all they're energy sheltering us,  { like that would help}  I think teens need to find a family member or friend to confide in, just having that support person to confide in , ask questions and maybe care about them enough to help get them involved with some type of social activities could be helpful

On Way My

Samantha,  It has really helped ,the 10 questions.  I am still slowly going though the sessions, I have a hard time staying focused, so the days that are good are the days I work on that.  Having 4 yr. old twins sometimes keeps me too busy to even think about trying to work on it.  I find that my "what if thinking" dosen't become as scary when I use the questions.  I do have a question,  I am very emotional most of the time, Is that part of having anxiety ?

Stuck? How can we help?

hugs,   I know where you are coming from, I get them days too.  It seems like they just sneak in.  On them days I do only what needs to be done and leave everything else for a better day, I get depressed on them days too, because i feel guilty for not doing what i planned, but I then tell my self it can all wait for a day that i feel better. I think we all just need to pamper ourselves, we are all special!      jaybe

Understanding Social Anxiety

I get depressed when I am having a bad day and my husband dosen't understand.  He just gets mad at me and ignores me for the rest of the day. On my bad days how he reacts seems to make me feel even worse.  It 's like he thinks I choose to feel this way, now that I understand the whole anxiety/panic disorder thankfuly , my bad days are few. Like a couple of people on here said, it makes it easier to talk to someone who had this problem, family and friends just don't understand and tend to judge you and look at you different.  I am glad this site is here, I wish everyone peace and anxiety-free days!  jaybe

hi, I have been reading around this site, having a really bad day!  I really wasn't going to post, but I know everyone on here is so caring, I have one big problem, I let the little things stress me, not just one , but like 5or6, but for me , they add upto be a major anxiety day that has potential for a Panic attack, My one major issue is I have no close friends, and my family dosen't care about my issues,{ very dysfunctional, another story} so when I feel better, it's because of caring people on this site.   Thaks!  any advice how to make friends, I am kinda shy and not outgoing?  jaybe

Thanks Davit, For all the positives, I always look at things negatively, I guess thats why I let anxiety rule me at times, A positive about me would be , I am a caring person, I truely like this site, because everyone has their own set of problems, but they seem to still be able to encourage someone who is having a rough time.  I don't know you all, but I feel a connection, and keep everyone in my prayers that there will be more good days, until the devil that each of you deal with is far in the past.   jaybe
