Just curious... Are weekends the hardest for you? The work week is easier for you?
How did the bicycle ride go? I haven't taken my bike out yet, I think you just inspired me to take it out of the old shed today and do the spring check up on it. The tires will likely need air and it might need to be oiled up. It is a great day for a bike ride.
I am so glad to hear you understand my interest in documentaries. There is indeed so much to learn in the world , almost an overwhelming amount! I usually watch no more than 2 a week, otherwise it can get to be too much and some of them are a bit depressing.
Have you tried anyhting new and exciting to eat? If you have please share, I would like to be adventurous and try something new in the food department as well!
Mission lemonade has officially begun! It was pretty cool this weekend so the temptation from BBQ's etc. was not there for me luckily. But I am implementing mission lemonade now to prepare for those summer months. The sun does bring back those summer memories, but you know what I feel like this summer is time for new memories, new adventures!
Sorry that you had a bad day yesterday! Those family situations can be brutal for these types of things. We can fall back into our old ways when we are around other family members that share(d) the same bad habits as us. I find it is this way with drinking and eating. Family gatherings and get togethers often revolve around a meal and alcohol. We feel like we are in our comfort zone and do things we might not do on a regular basis. I experienced something similar this weekend but more with food. I have been really watching what I eat as of late, and I went to visit my family for mother's day. The cookie jar was filled with fresh cookies, the desserts were abundant, the meals were calorie-dense and fat. But I couldn't say no to my mom's offerings. I think we just need to find a balance and also keep our family members in the loop on our lives. If our family knows in advance that we are eating healthy and losing weight or cutting out alcohol. I feel like they will respect these health behaviours and offer alternatives. I'm not sure...but that seems to be logical...
Yes, do what it takes! You need to protect your sobriety. If you truly want to stay sober, do what you must to do so! I would definitely do the old "rum and coke" but only put coke trickeroo! Or I would tell them excuses---not feeling well, antibiotics, driving....etc
But if you feel like you can tell them, then go for that too. Some will understand other people might not take you seriously or give you a hard time about it so you will have to decide what will be the most effective.. Either way stay strong and know that you are doing this for so many good reasons and we are proud of you!
Awww hors controle, it sounds like your daughter is really supportive of your decision here. It is obvious that she really cares and wants you to do what is best for you. Use this as motivation and keep strong!
Another happy weekend to put under the belt! How is this one going for you?
I am going to a "get together" tonight, at this point I feel more confident about my ability to ward of temptations. Feeling really good about it.... mission lemonade continues..
Haha thank you hors controle! I feel like I am more productive and motivated when I name my goals and pursuits "mission". I've had several missions and thus far mission lemonade has been quite the success! My get together was great and alcohol-free!
What will your next mission be? If you feel so inclined to have a mission of your own, I welcome you!
This is definitely the right place for you! Welcome and make yourself at home! It sounds like this is "your" time! Work through the program at your own pace, it will help you understand your drinking and help you prepare to cut down or cut it out completely. Whatever you choose to do, we are all here for you and support you all the way!
Despite my young age, I think that I will really start to do things for my health. Preventative measures I suppose, I want to be around a long time. And throughout those long years I want to be healthy and happy...
