I am back ....again

Hi Carlos -

Welcome aboard! You can do it for sure, and we all want to help you do it. Hell week is tough. Try nic gum or the patch if you need it. I can't do cold turkey - I get to edgy and violent. Do whatever it takes to get through that first week.

People who keep trying to quit are the ones who finally succeed. You're one of those - MAKE IT STICK!

My Milage:

My Quit Date: 7/6/2008
Smoke-Free Days: 51
Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,530
Amount Saved: $351.90
Life Gained:
Days: 8 Hrs: 12 Mins: 37 Seconds: 42

The demon calls....

Kelly and Lisa -

Thanks - I promise you both I will not smoke. I will not lose this quit. If I feel weak I'll shout out to you and won't do anything until I've heard back from you.

I shall go on to the end, I shall fight Nic in France,
I shall fight Nic on the seas and oceans,
I shall fight Nic with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, I shall defend my Quit, whatever the cost may be,
I shall fight Nic on the beaches,
I shall fight Nic on the landing grounds,
I shall fight Nic in the fields and in the streets,
I shall fight Nic in the hills;
I shall never surrender.

(Yes, I ripped off Winston Churchill...)

BTW - My company is based out of France so the first line works for me - I spend a lot of time there!

I'm so MAD!!! ARRRRGH!!! What do I do???

HP -

Some things are beyond your control. Your quit is not. You will maintain your quit I'm sure. The offenders behavior is not an excuse to fold. Yes, feel angry, but disassociate it with smoking.

YOU DO NOT NEED OR WANT A SMOKE - IT WILL NOT HELP

The demon calls....

I am with you HP - yes - we are stronger together. There have been many times you have inspired me during this quit. Together we will make it - all of us.

I will listen to all of you - not the seductive whispering of the nicodemon. Your voices are louder and stronger.

In Chicago right now at a trade show, a lot of schmoozing etc, at the bar last night, lots of people smoking outside, I didn't even crave.

3 weeks down-- yippie!!!

Wow Deb - 3 weeks...... Nice work.

Typically you can right click on your pic and then say either EDIT, or OPEN WITH - Use paint, it's pretty easy (I'm assuming it's a PC not a MAC), once in paint, on the top menu bar, click Image, the Stretch/Skew....

There are two boxes at the top of the dialog box that appears, one is horizontal, the other is verticle. Change those together or the pic will get wide or skinny and tall. In other words, change both to 50% and the pic will be half the size it used to be. Save the pic and post it!!

Hope that helps.

Nice quit Deb - you keep it up you hear me?

CybrDuke without the lid......

Hey all -

I hit 12 weeks on Sunday - 12 WEEKS!!!!

My reward can be seen in the pic below. My riding gear had gotten pretty old, so.... I got all new gear! Oh, and this is the first time I've shown my face here. Now you have some kind of idea of what I look like under the helmet!!

I hope I haven't scared anybody too badly!!! BTW - the gear cost LESS than I have saved by not smoking. Wow!

Have a great day all - I'm going riding!
