I am late to help... but gad you got thru.. I read someplace... buy some cheap plates, cups at a thrift store or garage sale.

take a cardboard box in the driveway or garage.. and you can throw the plates in to break them and get rid of frustrtion.

I had some cement patio stones with pieces of broken pottery in ... some made sun shine or smiley faces...

glad you got thru the disappintment yesterday.

That's fantastic Henny, you should be extremely proud of yourself!  It probably scared the dickens out of you making that call, but you did it. You'll be in the new habit in no time.

Thanks so much Kelly. I know you know what you're talking about! Thank you for the support.

Todash.... boy, no kidding. I'm thinking of your "saddo" post which I read several times. Well, DUH!
This is how one gets to the place you are in now. Got to work through it differntly.  Rework and rewire all those old prompts and emotions!! Kelly said this one time too. You have to muscle through it.
All with a little help from my friends!
I have to say that I am proud of myself for calling the "offending party" and saying what I thought in a calm, cool manner. That just might be a milestone for me - usually I would have crawled under a rock (with a pack of cigarettes, of course).

I knew I didn't want to smoke... I just didn't know what to do.  Now, thanks to everyone, I'll meet the next drama with better skills. :)

HP,  I am so glad that the walk helped.  I was in meetings all day so I missed your original post for help.  I can hear you on that one, work was hard for me most of the time, I had to get a new job in a different area.  You are doing fantastic, glad you could make the walk up the hill!!

Glad you made it through Henny - keep those walking shoes handy, exercise is the greatest decompression aid!  Trust there will be many more disappointments, how you choose to deal with them will be your proof of freedom.  Stay strong.

Dear Henny  Penny,
I'm so glad you came here first.  Isn't it great!  So many answers to help you.

We all have to deal with our emotions in a new way when we quit, and the big anger management ones are usually difficult!
You handled it all so well.  More power to you my friend!

Lolly.
