Stu, buddy, you're pushing it. Don't push it. You're saying you can't check in often as you'd like because you have a cold and will try more when you get better???? I honestly don't see the connection. Why does having a cold keep you from here? And don't tell me it's because you're afraid your computer will catch the virus! Going 7 - 8 hours without eating??? No wonder you got sick! Come on, dude! Give yourself a break and a chance. You have to eat right and stay close. Gee, our timing at this swinging this is impeccable. How many times have we met in the middle while one of us goes up, the other one goes down? I am not going down this time though. Lady asks, why do you keep going through this torture? I think it is because we don't know what else to do. Not only are we in the grips of a Nicotine addiction, but we have, over the years, become slaves to addictive thinking - period. Even though it is painful, it is what we are used to. That needs to change. I believe while you were talking to Lady last night, you had already made the choice. It is a choice StuBow!!! You allow yourself to feel deprived. You are not deprived. You can smoke any time you choose. You are not going to be happy about though......ARE YOU? So you can smoke, no one is saying that you can't. Maybe that is what you need to do....go back to your old habit for a couple of weeks. Smoke without feeling guilty (If it's possible). That is what I did. I set a quit date for a couple weeks in advance, smoked when I wanted (which was never really). OK smoked when the addiction told me to. This yo-yoing is harder than quitting. You will drive yourself crazy. Go one way or the other. No matter how you look at it, quitting is a process. It takes longer than a couple of weeks. Consider it like a death of a loved one. Do you get over it in a month. We have to work at being able to live comfortable without something that has been with us for a long time. Don't give up StuBow!!!! Hey Stubow, Doesn't it just make you so mad that the addiction keeps winning? Are you curious what it feels like to be free? Do you remember proud you were of how far you had made it? I have yahoo messenger up often, even when you can't see me there. Reach out if you need to talk. We CAN do this!
